When playing as a Militia or Brotherhood, you can take over the Academy instead of destroying it

Prefix:

Extended Dialogue Interface:

F4z Ro D-oh - Silent Voice:

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch - UFO4P:

Chinese address (including specific route selection and setting suggestions):

When playing as a militia, you can take over the academy instead of destroying it. This means you invade the institute from the surface with some soldiers and kill all the armed synths and coursers. When you're done and the academy is still there, the militia will set up a small base outside and patrols inside, with a lootable respawn container as a reward. The Brotherhood of Steel might be annoyed that some small militia has all this technology, but maybe a compromise can be arranged?

You need to talk to your father and target the department head for this mod quest to appear. (The death of any key personnel will prevent the mission from being triggered)

If doing the Brotherhood of Steel questline, you can also pass a voice check to get Elder Maxson to agree to occupy the Academy instead of destroying it. This means that when you jump into the Academy after "Invincible", my quest will begin instead of "The Nuclear Option". This option is only available after Paladin Danse and before Start/Invincibility. Not compatible with Danse Dilemma :(

Perfect for role players or anyone who really enjoys classical radio. Not great for people who like everything vocal. Bug reports, as well as writing/balancing feedback are welcome! Gotta get something to make the militia stronger! Please don't bother asking me (original author Domenicus7, the same below) to make other mods.

Include

The protagonist's faction occupies the academy

peer affinity

An immersive (hopefully) way to go to war with the Brotherhood

war

Classical radio broadcasts that continue to be used

Install

Install before starting the Militia's "Defend the Castle"

If you have already started "Defend the Castle", please do not update from v0.1 - I tidied up the files so all formids are changed. Sorry, it won't happen again!

compatibility:

I make a patch for any little thing that needs patching or anything I want to use. Edited Militia, Brotherhood and general nuclear options as well as Invincible mission logs and scripts, and edited various dialogue options to stop people acting like the Institute was blown up and therefore incompatible with anything that does the same thing.

If you have a mod that I haven't made a patch for and it only conflicts with the dialogue changes I made, then I recommend letting another mod win the conflict, since the dialogue changes are not integral to the functionality of this mod.

Known errors:

Don't get too close to the charging platform. Even if you do survive, falling into a hole while ragdolling requires loading an earlier save. The game is supposed to autosave when you place it in case you end up getting bumped there, but I'm not sure if this works in survival mode.

Interior guards don't always respect their patrol packs

The Clarksons were silent, their lights disabled, but their grids still rotated

Missing features:

Voice acting - It's definitely possible to pull from mostly normal dialogue, but I really couldn't face doing it.

Please stop recommending xVASynth, if I wanted to do it I would

If you want, you can make your own sound and make it a plugin

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
