No more random militia missions
Completely disables random quests you can get from Preston, Radio Liberty, or random settlers.
About this mod Machine translation
Completely disables random quests you can get from Preston, Radio Liberty, or random settlers.
This mod is designed for people who don't like getting stupid infinite militia random missions and prefer to go it alone and keep their mission log clean and flawless.
Therefore, this mod cleans up the militia random quest pool and sets the max active recruitment quests to 0 instead of od 3.
This way, Preston will never say there's another stronghold that needs your help, he'll just say he'll let you know if there is one (he never will), and Radio Free always says everything around the Commonwealth is quiet, so no junk missions for you.
It also disables the quests you can get from random settlements to become their owner, and settlers won't give you any quests (except for Greensking which you can get while crawling through mud - which comes as a one-time quest that is completed and disappears).
Quests such as "Out of the Fire," "Repay the Favor," or "Muddy Waters" are all untouched and work well when you talk to the quest giver to get them.
! You can immediately start an independent mission after leaving Hegenburg (i.e., retaking the main militia line of the castle). You can talk to Preston and he'll offer to take the castle back!
If you have already killed Kroger, you can trigger it using the console command: setstage 0003A457 20 (this quest will not appear in your quest log, you will need to talk to Preston first)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
