Get in and out of your workbench faster!
I (original author CrySpear, same below) made this mod for myself as I couldn't find anyone who could do this so wanted to share it with anyone else who is interested, I removed the long animation that plays when entering and leaving the crafting station, it makes things a lot snappier and more responsive, at the cost it may look weird, depending on your point of view the NPCs will also benefit from this, I also did it so you can use the radio in the middle of a battle if there is a battle going on and you don't separate or wait for someone else to handle it,
Depending on your camera settings if it's too close to your character it might make them disappear in the menu rather than break the game but I thought I might say something in case you run into it and if you have any issues please let me know and as for compatibility you can check for conflicts and merge them with mods you have that edit what I edited.
Versions 1.0 and 1.1 have been packaged and uploaded together.
1.1 builds on 1.0 by adding keywords to prevent NPCs from using the workbench, they don't even do anything but bother the player, so now you can use the mobile workbench in combat as expected (if you have the relevant mod installed), and the sound bug is now unavailable from NPCs,
Thank you for all the likes!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
