Nina's Actually Handcrafted Assault Rifle - Mesh/Model Replacement

This mod is a complete model replacement for the original Nuka World "Handmade Assault Rifle" with all its attachments, designed to make it truly look like it was handcrafted. This mod is just a mesh replacer and does not contain .ESP or .ESL files. As a mesh-only replacer, it is compatible with any mod that does not change the mesh of HMAR or its attachments.

Suitable for old or next generation.

Equally compatible with left-handed (vanilla) or right-handed animations.

Compatibility, Notes and Requirements

Nuka World & Far Harbor DLC

The files are loose for maximum compatibility, which means this will overwrite. Modifications to BSA packaging. This allows mods that only change weapon properties to still inherit the model. Mods that add entirely new attachments are unlikely to connect correctly without individually modifying them to fit.

The models are remixed from various vanilla assets, with few coming from the original HMAR, so the impact of the DLC skin packs will be minimal, if any.

General HD weapon textures will improve appearance. SavrenX's Weapon HD was used during development and screenshots.

Many of the assets used are from the Pipe Weapon series, so Gmoi6's Scrap Metal Pipe Retexture will work well if needed.

The included pipe weapons are recolored and shot with compatibility with The Attachment Pack built in by default. If you don't use it, unwanted files won't get in your way.

Most of the models in the pack were completely replaced with my own models, but I adapted some of their models to work with my models where I could.

The accessory pack isn't required - but you won't see several other new models without it.

Why?

I could write a whole wall of text on why I personally thought HMAR was dead on arrival, but honestly? It just feels... redundant.

Who's going to use this except for the pure vanilla game? It's almost impossible for you to encounter enough AKs, FakeKs, and AK accessories on any page of the "Weapons" mod category to make arms dealers fly flags at half-mast on a Sunday.

90% of them are better than HMAR in some way, and some of them predate the Nuka World DLC.

And it doesn't even look handmade. Templating some weld lines on an airsoft AK isn't a waste of land magic.

So having said all that, if you figured it out, why not breathe new (old) life into it by making it completely different. A practically handcrafted scrap to fill out your arsenal that won't look so obviously redundant next to any of the better AK clones you've loaded up for Wasteland Warriors and Combat Barbies.

If nothing else...I had a lot of fun making it. It's been a tough year.

I like making things. I love what I do. Maybe some of you will too. That's good enough for me.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
