About this mod Machine translation

---------illustrate----------

This mod adds 111 new, theme-appropriate songs to Diamond City Radio using JRavens' excellent Extra Tracks Pack - DIAMOND mod (included under Jvarnes' license). It no longer modifies the base game's songs in any way.

This mod also disables Travis' intro and converts it to the default song. Otherwise, Travis will tell you that he's going to play grandma for the numbers, and then play something else. Hopefully you play the game enough to know all of his song-specific jokes. Travis will continue to cover the news as usual.

----------Companion Mods ----------

Track Pack by Elvani -

If you missed Travis' intros too much, this mod restores them by using the files more. If you used MWTCF before version 3.0 and never encountered audio-level bugs, you should be able to use this mod with Elvani without any issues.

Diamond City Christmas Radio -

This is my second model, Old Man Mose, replacing all the normal songs with Christmas songs. It can be used simultaneously with MWTCF to enjoy a 40% Christmas, 60% new Christmas experience.

Note: You can only use one companion mode at a time, but feel free to switch between them, or use neither.

  • If you have Mod Manager, activate this mod and finish. If not, continue to step 2.
  • Extract more content from the archive into the Fallout 4 folder, maintaining the file structure. This should put the files in two locations:

Data\Sound\FX\MU\Wireless\ExtraTracks\Diamond

Data\Sound\Speech\Fallout4.esm\NPCMTravisMiles

  • Edit your Fallout4.ini to replace

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\

with

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

  • Edit your Fallout4Prefs.ini to add the following lines under [Launcher]

bEnableFileSelection = 1

  • Activate more content in Diamond City.esp
  • Turn on the radio and enjoy.

If the radio doesn't work right away, turn it off, move it around a bit quickly, enter and exit certain locations, and turn it back on. Sometimes Travis gets "stuck" and has to be restarted.

----------Upgrade Instructions---------

If you installed version 3.0 after using a previous version of the mod with Mod Manager, you may want to check the Data\sound\fx\mus\radio\diamondcity and Data\sound\Voice\Fallout4.esm\NPCMTravisMiles directories to make sure NMM cleared them before activating the new version.

Sometimes it forgets to clean old files, which results in duplicate songs and tracks.

----------Uninstall instructions---------

Just disable the mod in NMM, or delete the files from the Data directory (from both locations).

  • - - - - troubleshooting - - - - -

Many users reported audio mismatch between the original songs and the new songs. This may be due to an issue with the way Fallout 4 itself handles sound. This is actually a bug dating from Skyrim, probably because the engine is trying to send sound through a channel that the speakers don't support. Please try the following steps:

  • Control Panel>Sound
  • Double click on the desired playback device.
  • Go to the "Enhancements" tab.
  • Tick Loudness Equalization。

Please note that the mod no longer plays songs in .wav format, only mp3s, and all files have been resized to about 91db. Users should now have fewer sound issues.

  • - - - - Known issues - - - - - -

Sometimes the original song is noticeably louder or softer than the added song. Turn on Loudness Equalization in your computer's sound settings to resolve this issue.

Some people don't like individual songs. That's too bad. We all have different tastes. Maybe you'll like one of the other 110 songs?

Okay, so you - really - hate this song. fine. Find its number in the track list and delete the corresponding MUSXXX.xwm file from Data\sound\fx\mus\radio\ExtraTracks\diamond. Or replace it with your own song. Crazy.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
