About this mod Machine translation

I know of another mod that does achievements as well, but I wanted to create my own free version of F4SE.

Thank you for your understanding.

This cannot be installed with NMM, which will cause problems. You have to install it manually to avoid all problems.

-

My mod doesn't work with the VR version. Please use instead:

FO4VR Mod Achievements Enabler

What's this?

This is a plugin I made to re-enable achievements by patching Fallout4.exe at runtime. It is designed to be version independent.

It also works on already modified saves!

No more achievement warnings, no more[M]!

How to install

Copy all files from the download to Fallout 4's root folder (where Fallout4.exe is located, refer to this if confused).

Optional. If you are using True 3D Sound, first rename its dll to True3DSound.dll, download the compatibility file here and copy its dll, done.

Read the notes.

Play (you may need to restart Steam to use the mod).

Installation instructions

After installation your mod path should be this:

Fallout 4 \ AchievementsModsEnabler.dll

Fallout 4 \ AchievementsModsEnabler.dll_Exports.txt

Fallout 4\DllLoader.txt

Fallout 4 \ X3DAudio1_7.dll

How to uninstall

Delete AchievementsModsEnabler.dll, AchievementsModsEnabler.dll_Exports.txt, X3DAudio1_7.dll and DllLoader.txt from the root folder of Fallout 4.

How do I know if it works?

You won't get any achievement warnings, and [M] won't appear in the save menu (modified saves will need to be resaved [M] to disappear), or you can check the log just for sure.

After you start using Fallout 4 (you can alt-tab for this part), in the same folder where you installed the mod, there is a log file called: AchievementsModsEnabler.log.

It will say "yes" or "no". Indicates whether the plug-in successfully found and patched the required content. So, if it says no, know that!

Does it need updating?

Probably not! I designed it as a standalone version. But if that's the case, I'll fix it quickly. Below is a list of tested and working versions of Fallout 4.

Test and working version w/1.0.0.3:

1.10.82.0

1.10.20.0

1.9.4.0.1

1.8.7.0.0

1.7.22.0

notes

Achievements are baked into preservation. Therefore, any achievements you are most likely to earn will not be available unless you load an earlier save or start over.

If your save has been modified, you must save again so that the [M] disappears.

This won't let you disable VAC in any way, as Fallout 4 doesn't use any anti-cheat.

If the mod doesn't work, try restarting Steam and/or your computer.

This is not compatible with NMM. Must be installed manually.

This does not use F4SE. It doesn't conflict with it either.

Written in C++/ASM (Visual Studio 2015 and HJWasm).

The Dll loader can be used to load virtually any dll into Fallout 4.

If you happen to use my SteelSeries plugin (from Bethesda's mods forum), be sure to merge the contents of DllLoader.txt so both mods are loaded.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
