About this mod Machine translation
This mod fixes many of the creature textures in the HD DLC and introduces some missing texture and material changes. All included textures are composed entirely of assets from the vanilla game, sometimes mixed and matched.
No HD DLC required.
There are two versions available: 2K and smaller textures with only normal maps, materials and nif edits, and a 4K version with all of the above, plus a diffuse map.
An overview of the changes is as follows:
Convert all normal maps to DXT1. They are now half the original file size.
If applicable, convert small amounts of diffuse maps to DXT1.
In addition to adding skin patterns to many normals, it also increases the intensity and detail of most normal maps.
Created a new diffuse map for the Wild Ghoul variant that does not have a 4K version.
It is reasonable to apply subsurface scattering to every substance found in or on living things.
Adjust the intensity of light cast by glowing creatures to make them more visible.
All Molerats now have chests.
I plan to add creatures from the worlds of Far Harbor and Nuka in the near future.
As for any bugs this package may have, I have three issues that I'm aware of and have no idea how to fix or have given up on fixing:
The base Mirelurk King has a small amount of floating pixels near one of the fins.
The Super Mutant Mask has some visible seams.
One neck of the glow has a visible seam.
The ENB used in the screenshots is Photorealistic Commonwealth, and its lighting mode.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
