Quick overview
13 presets in total divided into 6 collections
Clean - Get rid of clutter and let your screen breathe (see User Interface Management).
Clean - You'd better count your ammo and AP, because your HUD certainly won't.
True Immersion - Just you, your HP meter and direction markers against the wasteland: do you accept the challenge?
Calibration - For those who love using a compass.
Done - Keep all elements from vanilla UI while enjoying Clean HUD functionality.
Compact Remastered - Provided by simonpdx, an improved version of the Complete-Compact preset!

more detailed description
So what do these presets do?
Various elements have been removed from the HUD.
Presets are organized in Collections and are used to determine which UI elements to remove.
Each collection has up to 3 presets (see Preset Types) that determine how UI elements are organized on the screen.
All elements are 30% to 70% smaller than vanilla.
All elements have been moved off the center of the screen or rearranged according to the new style (watch video and screenshots).
Default type
Classic - In the style of Clean HUD 1.2 and eariler, every element is very small and as close to the edge of the screen as possible.
Redesign - The most important elements are slightly larger than Classic and similar to the vanilla HUD (but still further away from the center of the screen).
Compact - Like various iterations of Clean HUD 1.3, taking inspiration from other games, the most important elements are squeezed into the lower left corner of the screen.

Looking to add a personal touch? Jack, DEF_UI got your back.
Navigate to the DEF_UI installation folder; you'll find it inside the Fallout 4 Data/Interface folder. It should look like this:
C:\ Program Files(x86)\ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Fallout 4 \ Data \ Interface
Now open HUDMenuSet.exe and edit' it. Have fun, be patient and don't forget to save when you're done!
Great time NEANKA and VALDACIL, the authors of the amazing DEF_UI.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
