About this mod Machine translation

DEF_Interface

  • DEF_INV includes KeyNuker so you no longer need to install it but can still support lyravega

This is a repackage and redistribution of Neanka's DEF_INV and DEF_HUD mods (licensed by Neanka) with a new integrated installer. These are the latest versions released by Neanka and are provided as is. See notes on mod support at the bottom.

DEF_HUD

---------------------

HUD or Head's Up Display refers to the main game interface during adventure. HUD elements include HP, AP, Crit, XP and Enemy HP meters, compass, dialogue and messages. This mod allows customization of all these elements. All elements can be moved, rotated and adjusted as needed. Some elements also have customization options, such as hiding parts of the element (such as the HP mark on the HP meter).

There is also an optional feature that displays scrap components underneath items while looting. This feature requires the inclusion of a scrap tag file or a similar file in sorting mode (such as VIS). If you use the included scrap tag file, it will override any mods that change the scrap (weight, components, name, etc.).

This mod will conflict with any other mod that modifies the interface (such as MyHUD or Pleasant UI), but all functionality provided by these mods can be duplicated with DEF_HUD (and then some).

DEF_INV

----------------------

DEF_INV has revamped the interface of the containers, barter and pipboy inventory screens with numerous improvements. Container and Barter screen sizes have been increased to fill the screen. All remaining functionality requires a sorting module:

  • Sort labels can be replaced with icons in all three screens.
  • New tabs are available in the Containers and Barter screens to limit what is shown by category based on tags.
  • Additional tabs have been added to Pipboy, Notes and Holotapes can be moved to their own tabs based on tags.
  • Pipboy items can be aggregated into one entry based on tags (for example: all keys are collected in one Key Ring entry, which can be expanded as needed).

SortMods

----------------------

Since most functions of DEF_INV require a sorting model, here are some suggestions for known sorting models that are compatible with DEF_INV:

Valdacil's items sorted by Valdacil

Better item sorting xandarori

Bhaal for better sorting via SystemLordBhaal

German items sorted by messiahgov (replaced by German items sorting by CelloFO4)

Zenotep is actually a weightless color sorting mod (get the config file from this mod)

Install

----------------------

Pre-installation: Follow this guide to prepare your game for modification. (This is required regardless of NMM or manual installation).

There are tons of options, so I can't stress them enough:

We strongly recommend installing through a mod manager who handles FOMOD INSTALLERS (like NMM)!

If you choose to attempt a manual installation, your mileage will vary and I cannot guarantee success. from there

You may face a lot of problems during the installation process and you won't even ask for help if you do

Not using the FOMOD installer...I can't see what you're doing wrong.

Using NMM: Use Manager to download and activate. NMM will prompt for selection.

No NMM: Download file. Then open the archive using your favorite .7z, .zip, .rar program:

  • Extract the interface folder to the game data folder (usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\data)
  • If you want DEF_HUD (if not, skip to DEF_INV below):

2a) Open the HUD folder in the archive.

2b) Open the folder to get the correct screen resolution (e.g. 16x9) and extract the interface folder to the game data folder.

2c) If you want to scrap the component: Extract the appropriate def_inv_scrap_xx.esp file for your language from your HUD folder to your game data folder and activate it like any other .esp you have.

  • If you want DEF_INV:

3a) Within the archive, navigate back to the root directory and open the INV folder.

3b) Open the public folder and extract the interface folder to the game data fo …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
