About this mod Machine translation

Pre-war prototype heavy machine gun. Uniquely fires .51 rockets that deal more damage the further away the target is.

*As shown in the picture, I am posting an old weapon - the MK41 rotor rocket (can also be considered an explosive bomb) heavy machine gun to make up for the current lack of new weapons. By the way, I want to complain about the new image publishing format of the N network. Many old module pages also use avif format images, which directly doubles the workload. *

Updated Chinese address on August 12th:

Mk 41 Rotor Rocket Heavy Machine Gun

Weapon information

As a prototype weapon under development before a nuclear war, the Mk 41 Rotor Rocket Heavy Machine Gun ultimately never saw combat action. Instead, it lurks in the basement of a testing site somewhere in the Commonwealth, ready to be acquired and used. Instead of firing conventional bullets, the weapon fires gyrorocket projectiles - caseless, self-propelled and gyro-stabilized projectiles with an onboard fuel payload.

This means that by default the Mk 41 Rotor Rocket will not take any damage at longer ranges like other weapons, and with the right receiver upgrade can actually do considerable extra damage to targets further away.

Where to get it

Enter Fort Strong and immediately in front of you will be a trapdoor that will house the new basement added by this mod. Inside you'll be able to find the Mk 41 heavy machine gun, as well as a number of prototype spare ammo boxes and an ammo switcher kit for switching the type of ammo you're using.

If you're the disobedient type, you can open the console and type "help gyro 4 weap" to see the ID of the Mk 41 Gyrojet in brackets, then type "player.additem X" where X is the ID of the weapon to have it immediately. We are not responsible if you are court-martialed as a result.

The vendor does not sell Gyro Rocket ammo (as this weapon has not yet been seen in the wasteland), but you can craft your own ammo at the Chemistry Workbench under the "Utility" entry.

Modification options

In addition to a chain of receiver upgrades that can prioritize short range, extra range, critical hits, or general damage, there are tons of customization options to choose from, including a variety of magazines, scopes, barrels, and muzzle types. Fire Mode is also a separate switch, and you can even choose whether you want to use the Rifleman or Heavy Weapon Perk buffs when using your gun. There are also several different types of rotor rocket munitions - standard, incendiary, cryo, high explosive and mini-nuke. One of the biggest categories of customization is the sticker options.

Sticker system

The Mk 41 Gyrojet mod includes a collectible sticker system. By finding and opening sticker packs in the world (most commonly found at Red Rocket gas stations and general vendors), you can apply the stickers you find to your Gyrojet's stock, or sell them or packs. Your luck affects what you might find in your backpack. There are over 40 stickers and some high-value rare stickers to find, and you can even place stickers around your settlement (under the Wall Decoration > Miscellaneous category).

Experimental transformation

In addition to collectible stickers, there are various experimental modifications scattered around the Federation that were in transit in army caches and never reached their destination. Since the Mk 41 Micro Rocket Gun is unique, it cannot appear on legendary enemies and therefore does not gain the legendary effect. However, with these experimental mods, you can activate these effects and freely choose between them. Use the experimental mod map to find these caches, which contain ammo and random micro-rocket parts.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
