Overview
An unofficial update for DeadPool2099's Military Rifle mod, containing many tweaks, bug fixes, tweaks, additions, and more.
Features
There are many variations to this mod, so please read carefully. I (original author codeblackcrash, the same below) rebalanced and redesigned almost every aspect of the original weapon - crafting recipes, perk requirements, weapon attributes, etc. There are too many individual changes to list, so I'll summarize the most notable ones below.
Base damage of all Military Rifles, Marksman Rifles, and Unique Rifles increased from 26 to 32. Additionally, the Survivalist's lower receiver has been enhanced to deal more damage.
Streamlined and greatly simplified upper receiver accessories:
Upper receivers are now available in standard and side cocking handle options only. The side-cocking receiver now has reduced AP cost.
Upper receivers cannot be interchanged between military rifles and marksman rifles. (I know this isn't ideal, but I've had some issues at work that resulted in me creating a clear separation between the two.
Streamlined and greatly simplified lower receiver accessories:
The lower receiver is now dedicated to changing ammo types between .223 caliber, 5mm, 5.56mm, 9mm, 7.62mm, as well as unique lower receivers for Survivalist, Accelerator and Atomic Glory.
9mm and Survivalist lower receivers now use ammo-extended ammo.
Removed Marksman Rifle Attachment Magazines, Military Rifle Straight Magazines, and Military Rifle Carrying Books/Perks. These are no longer required to craft Marksman Rifle Attachments or Straight Magazines.
Completely redesigned how military rifles and marksman rifles appear in the world, giving them their own unique personalities. You will now see 3 different "types" of service/marker rifles:
Military rifles now only appear with military rifle themed accessories - wood/polymer barrels and stocks, etc.
The Marksman Rifle now only has Marksman Rifle themed attachments - combat/marksman barrels and stocks, etc.
The Improvised Military Rifle is a new "type" that can be found on Predators. These will have temporary attachments as well as a wider variety of lower receivers (e.g. 9mm or 7.62mm).
Please note that accessories can still be added/removed from military and marksman rifles (except for upper receivers as mentioned above).
Starting at level 18, Provisional Military Rifles will begin to appear on Raiders, Raider Leaders, Nuka World gangs, and vendors.
The Marksman Rifle will appear on Gunner, Vendor, and Legendary drops starting at level 24.
Military Rifles will begin appearing on Gunners, Railroad Agents, Militiamen, Bosses, Vendors, and as Legendary drops starting at level 24.
Unique military rifles now spawn with a wider variety of attachments.
Added new firing sounds (regular, silenced and automatic) from snt2045's Power SREP mod.
Added black and steel weapon paints/finishes that can be crafted for any military/marksman rifle.
All weapon paints/skins now use vanilla weapon material attachment points and can be added/removed from all service rifles, including unique variants.
Marksman rifles now use normal scope/sight attachment points.
Reworked (and fixed) custom naming (INNR) rules for weapons - weapons with temporary parts will have a temporary prefix, while military/marksman rifles with short barrels will be named Military …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
