This module contains
"Lampbringer" adds usable lanterns to Fallout 4, with new lantern models and new animations!
Federation, Far Harbor and Nuclear World
All lantern static units have been replaced with interactive versions that can be picked up or destroyed.
Picking up the lantern will add it to your inventory, which you can then use. These weapons will be added to your "weapons" inventory since they are melee weapons.
Alternatively, you can also craft lanterns, as well as some alternative versions; inside a chemical station or settlement building, to light up your settlement! The workshop version can be found in the Decoration > Miscellaneous section.
Lantern styles include: Normal/Original, Militia (reinvented NV Lantern), Institute, Fusion, Vacuum Tube, Marauder, Merry (Christmas), Jack-O-Lantern, and Glow
who. The tier lists for Militia, Railroad, Institute, and Brotherhood of Steel patrols have been infused with NPCs using lanterns appropriate to their alignment, so you may encounter these in the wild!
Animations include first person, third person and powered armor.
Light
The /ESL super version is for players who just want craftable lanterns and patrol injections.
compatibility
This mod is built on game version 1.10.163, so it should work on downgraded, next-gen, and anniversary editions.
Since in-game static data is replaced by activator versions, the game treats these as pre-visualization/pre-merge edits. While the mod itself created here won't cause breakage or issues as the model position is still the same, it's something to be aware of if you're using mods pre-merged by other editors. A good example of this is the Previsibines fix pack - a popular mod that rebuilds Fallout 4's previsualization/premerging to improve performance. If you are using similar mods, you should have Lamplighter load before those mods in the load order.
If you run this mod through Fo4Edit, it will show errors related to DLC04 (Nuka World) pre-visualization/pre-merging recording. Don't report this as a bug - Fallout 4 just doesn't like mods editing anything Nuka-related, and this will be reported as a bug.
The animation set, related original lanterns and institute lanterns are open permanently and can be used in any mod as long as the source is noted.
Militia, Brotherhood, Fusion, Conduit, Pumpkin and Lumineer Lanterns use resources provided by the JViole/OWAP team and must obtain their permission before use.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
