Summary:
Short side quest/unique encounter mod. It is based on base game elements. Absalom is now a former member of the Gunners, who have put a bounty on his head. He hates them and collects their military cards.
What this module does:
- Give Absalom a real character instead of a random hostile NPC. It is set as protected and is not required.
- He now has scripted, fully voiced dialogue scenes to talk to players. Players have voice acting.
- The original Absalom was spared. One of them might be a synth...
- A new map marker has been added to the abandoned Overpass Campground, which was originally a vacant site near the Electricians Club; an electric lift has been added to make it easier to reach the site.
- He may be hired as a "valet" at a daily rate until fired or dead. He remains mostly independent. He cannot be traded or commanded except by following, staying, or disbanding.
- The module contains a script that can inject "Gunner Dog Tags" into the death item level list and drop them randomly after killing. These can be sold to Absalom while he is at home.
- Add a holotape to your backpack as another way to give him orders. When he is a certain distance away from you, you can use it to teleport him to you. This holographic tape will be removed when he is fired.
What this mod doesn’t do:
This isn't a huge quest chain or game-changing mod. It just makes his character a little more interesting.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
