To be honest, I (original author Diakyuto, the same below) feel I have to explain the existence of this mod. If you're concerned about why, I'll tell you below.
About 2 years ago I asked Toasty Fresh if I could use his Deagle mod for a larger project I was working on. The project soon grew into something much wider. Believe it or not, this was one of my first projects... to my detriment because it resulted in a lot of ideas that I wanted to add but had no idea how to implement, which resulted in months of rebuilding and deleting. Since then, not one but two of my friends have posted their own. Even WARS, which was in its own state of development hell, was released, and it wasn't a punch in the gut. Later versions of the deagle mod were pretty much riding a tightrope and finally put the matter to rest. I took everything I learned about mod development, cleaned up all the assets I'd basically built over the course of a year, and delivered what you see here. I think this is basically the baseline of what I've learned so far. At least a lot of what I wanted was achieved. I know what works, what doesn't, and how to make something visually semi-consistent. So before anyone accuses me of anything negative you are about to do, here is my explanation.
"You know the Desert Eagle was in Fallout 1 and 2, and the P90 and the FN FAL and..."

This mod builds upon Toasty Fresh's work on his Desert Eagle Mod. Among other things he modeled for that occasion. Since then, various authors have used his model to create their own versions of the Desert Eagle mod. This is mine. This Deagle Mod wouldn't be here if it weren't for the efforts of various other modders. They deserve it and better yet, more to their credit for making this mod possible in its current state.
This mod makes heavy use of ammo expansion items. I wouldn't make my own version of the original ammo. My stance is firm.
This project has been in development hell for too long. I don't want to spend more time on it. However, I will provide a template for anyone to take on this resp …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
