List of all characters IDs Game content ID list
I made this mod because I enjoy revisiting characters, whether they be companions or simple settlers or townspeople.
However, although I remember several NPC's IDs perfectly, I have to re-read it, and it gets annoying when I want to re-read another NPC to get his ID first: I want to re-read him now!
That's why this mod is here: it adds a document containing the ID of nearly every unique re-viewable NPC in the game.
This list also provides IDs for DLC characters, but the mod itself does not require any DLC.
To view the NPC again, you must enter the following command: showlookmenu [NPC's ID]; You can also enter the command: slm [NPC's ID].
Showlookmenu is one of those rare commands that affects NPCs, and they actually require you to enter the NPC's ID to work, which is why you need to know it; and to know it, you have two ways: either you go online, but that's a pain in the ass; or you click on the NPC to get its ID, but again it's tedious, especially if you want to revisit several NPCs in the same area.
Pay careful attention to this: don't try to revisit an NPC that's not in the same cell as you: your game will instantly CTD.
This document is divided into several categories so you can find the character ID you need more easily,
The document does not contain the IDs of unique characters who appear only during certain missions and are removed or killed upon completion, regardless of your choice, to provide you with a clear example: the ID of Conrad Kellogg is not provided, since Kellogg only appears at the end of the hunt for him and you are forced to kill him: in this case, revisiting him would be completely useless.
Additionally, the file does not contain the IDs of every unique NPC in the game, i.e. the base game settlers, although they are unique and re-viewable NPCs, are not named, and providing their IDs would also have forced me to go through an overly complicated description process; for those interested in naming settlers and NPCs; try this mod: People Have a Name
Since some NPC names among people are also part of the IDs provided by the All Character IDs list, know that they haven't been changed: their IDs remain the same whether you have them with names or not.
Depending on the success of this list, I can update the file to include the ID of each character that got a name, where People has a name.
This file also contains a text file that is targeted to be placed in your Fallout 4 folder (not the Data folder), it is meant to be used as a bat file to provide you with the list, the bat file is specifically designed to work NO MATTER the load order for all character ID lists, however, since the bat file contains commands for every possible position in the load order, you will get a lot of error messages when you use the bat command; ignore them: the list has been correctly added to your inventory.
For those who don't know how to use the bat command, open the console and type: bat CharactersID
Note that even though I wrote the characters in uppercase letters, the game won't take them into account, so you don't need to switch to them; of course, feel free to rename the file if it suits you better.
Also, know that these IDs can also be used for any need or purpose you have, I did this for repurposes, but anything from moving the player to resurrecting can also use the same IDs; it's up to you.
Of course, I can't end this description without providing you with a link to "Appearance Menu: Appearance Menu"
I made this mod because i love to relook the characters, be it companions or simple settlers or town inhabitants.
However, altough i came to flawlessly remember the ID of several NPCs i have to habit of relooking, it becomes quickly annoying when i want to relook another NPC to first have to obtain his ID: i want to relook him right now!
This is why this mod is here: it adds a document who contain the ID of almost every unique relookable NPC in the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
