The vanilla level item (LVLI) list can be picky at times. When modders put their items in expecting them to work a certain way, but actually behave differently than expected - plus script injections can't be easily reverted - it can lead to a mess. This mod attempts to simplify the process and give modders and users more control over it.

As a mod user, you don't need to do anything to achieve this, just install the mod and forget about it. It will complete the task automatically. But you can always make some individual modifications with its holotape or optional MCM.

As a modder, you can use additional LVLI tables, but this is completely optional. You can also ignore them and just enjoy the fixed and improved version of the original version without having to modify or overwrite anything yourself.

Overall, this mod mainly covers weapons (including ammo and explosives) and armor-related (including power armor) LVLI forms, as they are the most common targets for script injection.

Fix

All LVLI fixes from unofficial Fallout 4 patches are included/forwarded and standalone - you don't need to have UFO4P installed to apply them.

Implemented custom solutions for some Wastelander/Settler costumes and related LVLI forms, covering changes to these forms from unofficial patches. This was done to fix these forms and prevent UFO4P from causing the game to spawn identical wasteland dwellers/settlers. This also allows other mods - those that inject some equipment into the original LVLI that were also removed by UFO4P - to still be completely normal.

Fixed the unique PA parts of Tessa's Fist so that it uses the correct armor parts and the correct accessories.

Fixed the "Piezoelectric Nuclear Powered Armor Box" to spawn in variants other than the T-45 and T-51.

Most LVLIs used for custom/unique item assembly have been redesigned and no longer use other nested LVLIs. They become independent and directly reference the corresponding project. Other mods (especially item replacers using LVLI replacement) can no longer break the assembly of these items.

LVLI for Super Mutant weapons has a unique set of nested forms so that Super Mutants are no longer negatively affected by weapon mods that lack Super Mutant animations, including weapon replacements that implement their replacement through LVLI. This also makes it easier for modders to target LVLI for specific factions.

Remove unnecessary/redundant override names in the LVLI form if the related project form contains the target name as a base name, or the object template already has an override name. This reduces conflicts for these records while allowing INNR to be used or displayed on some projects.

There are a lot of additional (minor) fixes I don't want to list them all.

Standardization and Improvement

Most included LVLIs use the "calculate from all levels <= player level" flag (as almost all vanilla forms do) so that drops are randomly generated. Previously, when it came to certain item infusions, they would result in containers/NPCs always only possessing specific or specific items, with copies of the NPCs running around the federation.

LVLIs marked "UseAll" will still be "UseAll", but will have sublists that you can pour items into without filling up the container/NPC inventory with hundreds of pieces of armor, weapons, ammo types, consumables, etc.

All eligible LVLIs come with Epic Chance value. This usually determines how likely you are to get items with random/higher level parts, rather than just the default fixed parts. These opportunities are configurable via LIF's holographic tapes and optional Multi-Line Multi-Module (MCM).

Cleaned up some LVLIs, especially those referencing the same item/sublist multiple times. This resulted in other featured items appearing less frequently, mostly alongside tubular weapons …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
