About this mod Machine translation

A legend-friendly 5.56 collection for live ammunition enthusiasts, including the New Vegas light machine gun, the 3rd generation R91 battle rifle, and the ·223 automatic pistol from Black Isle Studio's Van Buren project

Preface: Nuclear World

Updated to version 1.31 on November 5th:

  • 3rd generation R series rifle version 1.31 released
  • Renamed the new scope grids with riser cards and reset their file paths so they don't interfere with the LMG and Autoloader.
  • Integrated modified sight grid using new risers, thanks to Kasarov.

There is also a personal update. I will post a separate post with the same name on the independent version. Because previous tests found that sight patches or Chinese changes only take effect in the independent version, and errors will occur when using the collective version, so the integrated version is posted here.

Overview

Each weapon has a large number of attachments in all standard categories, balanced around vanilla damage values (although as usual, my automatic receivers did about 10% more damage than the vanilla receivers). The New Vegas LMG and Van Buren automatic pistols each have one in the world, while the XR92 has two. Each weapon has a static spawn, and there are some new surprises in the attachment that I haven't done before. All are added to the tiered list between levels 18 and 25.

All guns require Nuka-World preloading, although this is a soft requirement for the 5.56 autoloader. It can be loaded without NW, you will only be missing the combat sight texture.

All animations are independent and will not interfere with any other Nuka-World handmade rifle animations you may have installed.

Why these three separate sets of plugins and archives? Because I like giving people some freedom to manage their games, this structure makes tinkering easier, especially on Xbox. I also thought that anyone who had built a load order that hit the archive limit would probably know how to deal with it.

ESL tag? Yes.

STS? Maybe later.

R Series (R91, Infiltrator, XR92)

The R series includes the classic R91, the Infiltrator and my own creation the XR92, all of which are one weapon. The XR92 is to the R91 what the CAR-15/XM177 is to the M16, albeit less successfully. Its appearance is loosely based on the CETME L. In the game, you'll see this combo listed as a "Defense Rifle." Why? There are several reasons. First, obviously, the assault rifle had been taken. Additionally, the R3 we saw in the FO91 was primarily used by the National Guard, while the XR92 I designed ended up being a reservist weapon. Since both weapons were intended for use on the home front, Defense best suited the original naming scheme.

It can primarily be found on gunmen, although a few may have found their way into the hands of other faction leaders.

14 Receivers (Receivers can be produced in green XR92 or classic R91 style. Regardless, the stats are the same.

XR92 Legend

As a lightweight carbine version of the R91, designers and producers were so confident in the design that hundreds were produced.

It was expected that they would be passed to Special Forces and Airborne Forces, but it was ultimately decided that the new carbines did not offer enough advantages over the existing R91, Assault Carbine and Marksman Carbine to offset production costs to replace them.

While a few found their way into the hands of Special Forces, most XR92s simply sat in reserve armories near their production facilities until gunners established operating bases in the area and discovered the weapons in storage. Through their ranks, weapons had begun to spread along the east coast.

World Spawn: On the gunner-controlled overpass near Wildwood Cemetery.

Unique spawn locations: Illusion Laboratory area and inside Strongburg.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
