Kingsport Lighthouse Blueprint
This is my take on the Kingsport Lighthouse. My computer is male, so it has a very masculine feel with a lot of nice nautical decor.
over you
The entire house, including the foundation, goes into waste before (don't abandon a lighthouse or dock house on a dock). I'm not sure transferring the settlement process will get rid of the house. Just make sure it's gone.
About settlement
Note that this is a player's house, so there are very few resources, only one robot lives in it (who is the supply line), so only a bed is needed. Technically I thought there were three beds because the bed had an extra pillow and blanket and each one counted as one, but I really just went for aesthetics since the mattress texture was pretty rough. A great space for you and your partner.
About The House
I completely rebuilt my house from the ground up using Snappy Housekit modular parts...I was tired of the whole house being one big unit. I don't know how many times I've accidentally deleted or unblocked it just trying to move or delete something small. This gives you more architectural flexibility if you want to add or replace any parts yourself.
About the lighthouse
Yes, I know lighthouses are ridiculously over-lit. There is a diminishing return on how many lights can be added to an area before adding them anymore, which I believe exceeds or at least reaches that limit. This is my tribute to another great game, Alan WakeWell Lit Room is a beautiful, cozy haven in the middle of a very dark and intense game. If you don't want to remove them there, but you have to admit, it looks beautiful at night (see picture).
About cats
There are 20 cats roaming around the lighthouse. I think it would be fun to continue catching and releasing cats because it reminds me of Hemingway's cat at the Key West Lighthouse. I'm not a Hemingway fan, but I am a Lighthouse fan. And a cat lover. I was over 30 at one point but I had to cough...disable (markfordelete) some because they blocked doorways and blocked the way, making it difficult to move (just like real cats!). Just know that if you leave open the option of importing farm animals, you'll have a bunch of furry tenants.
About birds
It's not your imagination - the birds are frozen on the pier. It's not my fault! Or any other mod, for that matter. This is a gameplay bug related to the way birds animate on splines will freeze if they are unable to complete a path due to an AI script triggering them to flee when a human approaches them. They can't fly away again without landing first, so they're... locked in an endless fight or flight process. You can disable/mark them to remove them, but more will just come back and freeze. This is a bit sad. Just think of it as part of the HP Lovecraftian ju-ju that's about to happen.
About plug-ins
Before you tell me I use too many plugins, this list is over 30 in my own saved games. Before exporting I lowered it to 15 (excluding DLC files, transfer settlement and its plug-in requirements of course). I took out all the Creation Club content (you're welcome), as well as the mods that only added one or two things, and I either replaced the items or deleted them.
Not everything below is mandatory, but if you don't have them, your house will look very boring. I did list each plugin and what to use so you can decide if you really need it. Of course, if you don't have the plugin, it won't import the project, so in some cases it's not a deal breaker.
Required plugins:
Snappy House Kit - The entire house was recreated using this mod. You must have Snappy Housekits version 8 or higher, as the entire menu system was rebuilt after that version. If you're just looking for an easy way to rebuild your home, this is what you need. Please note that if you don't like it, you will have to pull off all wallpapers yourself.
Recommended plugins:
Settlement Power Overhaul - This enables most items in the Settlement to use wireless power. If you're tired of racks, …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
