About this mod Machine translation

A new type of raider with unique armor that yields valuable scrap.

Original address:

Updated on July 15th:

Version 1.1b

Added the first Junkernaught boss in the Poison Den north of Bunker Hill, complete with a unique legendary mask.

Version 1.1 updated on July 8th:

First update. Added Bombshell Torso Armor and several new Junkernaught spawn points. Also fixed some bugs found by wulfharth.

Updated Chinese address on May 30th:

Junkernaughts are a new type of pillager enemy that were added to many pillager spawn areas. They can appear alongside unique armor items made from cobblestone patchwork trash, which are slightly better than regular Reaver armor. They will provide better components when scrapped.

balance:

This will slightly increase the early game difficulty of certain looter zones, but will also increase the rewards, especially for sole survivors who enjoy building and crafting. Junkernaughts are set to match player levels, capped at 50. By then, the scraps should have become less important, and having a bullet sponge seems unnecessary when the rewards no longer matter.

Junkernaught Armor:

The armor pieces are original meshes and textures and are supposed to look like junk items from the game. I (wulfharth, the original author, the same below) did take the opportunity to be creative and add some new tools and stuff, but I think it all fits in from a lore-friendly perspective.

compatibility:

It shouldn't have any compatibility issues even when used with other raider mods. Junkernaughts uses its own level list, in addition to guns and sometimes vanilla raider armor. Any mods that add or change these will be represented. As for the Predator Overhaul mod, these enemies shouldn't be affected too much.

Future plans:

Future plans include adding new pieces to all armor slots, and eventually adding specific Junkernaught armor for Rust Devils and Far Harbors Trappers. Nuka World Raiders are already very unique. I'll also be adding some Boss Junkernaughts with unique legendary gear. I'm already preparing one for the first update.

I hope to update with a new armor every month if there's interest. Making armor out of discarded items from the pre-war world is conceptually interesting.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
