Do you want to know more?

What's in the module?

Next to the Hubuli comics is the entrance to BATTLEDOME (the latest immersive VR experience!), home to a Bug Blaster simulation, perfect for anyone seeking citizenship or just wanting to spread administrative democracy among the stars!

Enter and defend Whiskey Outpost from the Karachi Swarm! Are you ready?

  • Customize your enemies!
  • Customized armor!
  • (Very small) custom world space!
  • A never-ending swarm of free bugs that hate their enemies!

How to play?

Activate the Bug Blaster program from the terminal in the BATTLEDOME lobby and enter the emulator.

Once in the simulation, head to the outpost, prepare yourself, and use the brightly colored buttons to select which group you want to face (easy, medium, or hard, or a combination).

To return to BATTLEDOME, simply exit through the door you came in from.

Things to note:

  • This mod spawns a lot of enemies, so how laggy things are depends on your system. The Karachi Swarm is fairly low poly, with 1-2k textures to help your system cope. This runs quite happily on laptops with NVIDIA 1650Ti and Intel i5 configurations (FYI).
  • Despite trying, I (RascalArt, the original author, the same below) can't find a way to automatically reset the internal area, so once your turrets and robots die... they can't be revived.
  • Fallout 4 by default only allows about 80 NPCs to be active at the same time, so if you spawn multiple waves at the same time, don't be surprised if some NPCs just stay put. This mod() apparently increases this limit, although I haven't tested it myself.
  • For a true Starship Troopers experience, be sure to download the Morita Battle Rifle Mod here (). A patch is provided in the optional files for this mod to equip outpost NPCs with these rifles.
  • Despite some vague suit cosmetics, this mod is decidedly not very legend friendly. It's intended to be a fun little experience.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
