Overview

====================================================================

General changes

  • Added military ranks to the volunteers.
  • Militia will now be somewhat on par with players. For example, a vigilante spawned at level 1 will be the same level as the player until level 10, a vigilante spawned at level 8 will be the same level as the player up to level 15, and so on.
  • Changed the weapons and armor generated by the Minutemen.
  • They will start with Metal Armor in the early levels as they mainly fight opponents who use ballistics.
  • Then, as more enemies wield energy weapons, including potentially enemy factions, they will progress first to leather and then to combat armor.
  • Added legendary variants for Minutemen NPCs.
  • Militia flare spawning will now be chosen from higher level Minutemen in the level list based on the player's level.

Faction NPC Perks

  • Added perks to faction NPCs that unlock better effects as you progress through the faction's questline, for example, completing the "Nuclear Option" will unlock staggered opportunities. Note that perks like Stagger and Disarm only affect NPC versus NPC, so if you're fighting a faction, you won't be staggered all over the place.

New NPCs

  • Added new higher level NPCs corresponding to Continental Army ranks.
  • Cavalry or Dragoons will be militiamen wearing T-45 power armor.

new random encounters

  • Added new attack encounters using the Random Encounter Framework ( ). This change is intended to give the faction more interaction with the rest of the Commonwealth.
  • If you have already created a militia and then side with the Nuke World Raiders, you will see the militia fighting your new friends.
  • If you beat Nuka Raiders in Open Season, you will see the attack encounters where the Militia fight Nuka Raiders in the Commonwealth and Nuka Worlds.
  • You will see militiamen protecting some settlers from attack by mechanic robots.

Install

====================================================================

This mod is designed to be modular. If you have other faction overhauls, you can use the changes to encounters individually.

==================================================================== Compatibility

====================================================================

Whenever possible, changes to the original recording were done through RobCo.

Weapons and Armor Faction Overhaul

  • These refer to the overhaul of editing vanilla NPC weapon or armor class lists.
  • A patch is required so that new NPCs added by this mod will use new weapons and armor. Otherwise, they will use any vanilla.
  • Another option is to not install the "Level List" option under "Additional Features" which allows editing the NPC armor level list.
  • Overhauls like We Are the Militia will overwrite the original Militia outfits, so even the new NPCs added by this mod will get the changes, so it won't need a patch.

Faction NPC stats overhaul

  • These are a faction overhaul that edited vanilla NPC stats. An example of this is We Are the Minutemen.
  • If you want the changes from other faction overhauls, please do not install the vanilla module of this mod.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
