Idle Life - NPCs exploit the world around them
A place that belongs to everyone around you. People around you have new places to hang out, and every kind of place should be everywhere: warm hands by the campfire, coffee on the counter, real walls read against the navigation network, round tables around the campfire. It is placed when running and gone when you leave.

Idle life
A place worth going to belongs to everyone around you.
In Fallout 4, the people around you mostly just stand around because there's almost no place for them to warm themselves, lean against, or sit. The idle life gave them more. They warmed their hands by the fire, drank coffee at the bar, leaned against real walls, and sat around the fire. These slots are added while the game is running and disappear when you leave.
In short, what you get
People near you will use fire pits, counters, walls, benches, workbenches, etc. Each type should be used.
They will stay for a while and then leave on their own.
People stop and communicate with gestures: nodding, shaking their heads, pointing, laughing, even without speaking. If the distance is too far, one of them will walk over first; sometimes it's a person and a dog. (fR1eNd’s idea: thank you!)
Enough to feel alive without ever being covered in props.
What you need is: F4SE and a runtime database. The Mod configuration menu is optional and is used for settings.
The process is: install with Vortex or MO2. The installer will first check your setup. See requirements below.
Place it the way Bethesda placed it. Calculated according to the points of the game itself: the hand is heated 69 units from the fire, and the person sitting next to the campfire is 131 units away from the fire. People would stay for a minute or two and then leave on their own.
Real walls, no spots on the drop. The game's scripting language, Papyrus, can't see walls. So a small F4SE plugin reads the ground the game is walking on (the navigation mesh) to find real walls and stay away from falls.
Enough to feel alive without ever being covered in props. 1.5 places per person, from 3 to 40, spread across 18 types to suit the venue.
People stopped and talked. Two locals stand facing each other and talk with their hands; if they are standing far away, they will walk over first. Recommended by fR1eNd in the Posts tab.
Various places
Bonfires and bonfires, countertops, tables and benches, railings and walls, clearings, boxes and boxes, crops.
Workbenches by type: Power Armor, Chemicals, Tools.
Radio (dancing), pool table, TV, front door.
Every original position is suitable for the location: looking into the distance with both hands on the railing, leaning over the map, rummaging through boxes, welding, painting the walls, sweeping, hoeing and weeding, guarding the post, push-ups, praying, and looking out.
Robots and Dogs: Mr. Handy does gardening and trims hedges.
Seats side by side with the people who fit here: the raiders with their jets and knives, the settlers with their clipboards and brooms, the townspeople with their newspapers and their Pip-Boys. The children were sitting on the floor.
Bonfires and radios attracted more people at night.
Settings (MCM)
Per person quota, maximum value, daily reorganization, each type of switch, and test page (generates test settlers, status, detailed bug report log).

Fallout 4 1.10.163, next-gen or anniversary edition. There is no main control other than Fallout4.esm; the DLC is only used if you have the DLC. There is no F4SE or runtime database, only points near walls and open areas are closed, and the Idle Life in the game says so. Installing with Vortex or MO2: The installer will first check your settings. Manual installation is not supported.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
