about
If you've played Fallout 4 for any length of time, you've probably heard some of the same lines uttered by fellow players over and over again. This mode adds a little variety to Piper's repeatable dialogue. The variety of dialogue sometimes doubles, triples, or quadruples on the topics Piper often talks about (combat, trade, tactical orders, friendship/romance, etc.). The default game Piper has approximately 2,000 lines of dialogue. About half of these lines are major storylines that players typically only hear once. From these 1,000 lines, I was able to segment and/or combine words and phrases to create over 300 new lines of dialogue. They should be indistinguishable from the original dialogue and sounds appropriate to the subject.
This mod attempts to make the companion more humane by adding new lines of repeatable dialogue to the existing 1000 default lines of repeatable dialogue, so it may not be a huge difference. But it should be noticeable because the new lines are more spread out among the categories Piper will use the most.
feature
Seamlessly blends in quality and theme with the original Piper dialogue.
Over 300 new routes. A one-word response that normal people use all the time in several sentences.
New lines add companions' responses to location types (creepy, quiet, dusty, messy, etc.), specific named locations, player interactions with other NPCs, player's daily actions in the Commonwealth, combat, trade, tactical and aid orders, friendship or romance (with the correct affinity level), lover's embrace upon awakening, and many other categories.
Install
NMM is used for automatic installation. As for the manual, it's pretty straightforward too, the instructions are in ReadMe.txt. To uninstall just delete the same files as instructions in ReadMe.txt.
compatibility
Compatible - All mods except mods that change Piper's dialogue lines.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
