So this feels like my first time doing an "official mod". Not to disparage my NPC replacements, or anyone else's, but this is the first time I've ever started from scratch, completely created assets from scratch, and put them into a game. I have been trying to figure out similar mods in the past few years. When I was looking through old files a few days ago, I found an old mini nuke remesh I made when I first learned Blender. To be honest, the mesh is a bit rough, the polygon count is slightly higher than what I'm aiming for now, and there are some issues that I wouldn't put up with if I were more experienced now, but I feel like it's salvageable and I should try to do something about it. Sometimes you just keep on finishing, practicing and finishing instead of giving up, and as a proof of concept that you can make something like this, I think it works pretty well. I may re-master it later and fix the issues with the current version, but I feel like it's good enough for now.
I went to great lengths to get it to animate properly, and now I can thankfully say that it's fully integrated into the game, both as a world model (when you pick it up in the game as ammo) and as part of the Fat Man model, including its reload animation and fired projectiles. But apparently it only changes the standard payload options, not the Multiple Warhead Vehicle (MIRV).
Hopefully this will be more of a re-meshing and re-mapping mod for other random objects in the original game that I feel could be improved upon. I don't know how long it will take for the other ideas I have in mind right now to come to fruition, but as always, I'll be posting previews of upcoming mods on the Ko-Fi page.
It's simple, choose your preferred texture resolution and install it like any other mod. I recommend that most people use a 1K or 2K material, as this is a smaller object that most players won't spend much time looking at up close. But obviously, 4K textures are the most beautiful.

Nothing fancy, but I want to quickly recommend The Fancy Fatman by dpillari, as it improves the texture of the original Fatman and brings it closer to my new mini nuke. I used it to take the screenshot of the fat man on this page. But if you use them together, remember to install my mod afterwards so my textures don't get overwritten. If you haven't recommended that mod yet, remember to recommend it.
I have almost no works to mention this time, because I made them all myself, but I still want to thank dpilari for bringing "Fancy Fatty".
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who uses and enjoys my mods.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
