~~The Chinese address will be updated on January 23, 2024:
The handcrafted rocket rifle is the answer to early to mid-game explosive weapons. Don't want to wait forever to get a missile launcher? Then the rocket rifle is the weapon for you.
data
This weapon does half the damage of the Missile Launcher, making it good against small groups of humanoid enemies, but not so good against tough targets like Death Claws or Sentinel Droids.
How to get
Rocket Rifles start spawning in the tier list after level 8 and can be found on Raider Leaders, Gunner Leaders, and occasionally Militiamen.
Animation
The animations in this mod are a modified set of double barrel animations created by Diacute. These animations eliminate shell ejection so you don't have that mysterious second rocket.
Ammunition type
The Rocket Rifle uses New Vegas "Rocket" ammo. In its current state, this is just a visual change, and the weapons still use missiles. Once ammo 1.1 drops, the appropriate rocket will be used.
Unique variants
A unique variant of this weapon adds a nuclear option and can be found when a certain scientist is hiding in the Glowing Sea. (i.e. Vergil’s hideout in the main plot)
Known issues
The third person is a bit weird. Solution: Play in first person.
Final Notes
This was a fun little weapon to test whether I could create a complete weapon mod in a short amount of time. This is also a test to demonstrate the many applications of the assets featured in my asset pack. These useful little gubbins add a lot of interest to handcrafted weapon mods, check them out here:
Permissions
As always, any of my assets are free to use in your own Fallout mods, just give credit where credit is due.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
