GRIM is the most comprehensive Horror mod for Fallout 4 and is almost entirely modular and customizable.

So any user can tailor his experience to his liking at any time:

- New weather and new atmosphere are forced and hard-coded parts of the mode

There is then the option to switch or customize from the GRIM menu located in your clothing inventory: (

Collect it and use it immediately anytime, anywhere)

  • Curse: Enable or disable monsters, hunters, and all Grim gameplay.

(In other words: disabled curses = simple weather & atmosphere & visual mod, with optional sound design)

  • New world space (Hell) and new dynamic interior relighting (compatible with any interior mod)
  • New exclusive built-in cinematic visual effects (grain, DOF, vignetting, lens aberrations)
  • Many visual effects presets.
  • New sound design
  • 5+ hours of soundtrack
  • Exclusive self-composed soundtrack system based on weather
  • New creatures, new enemies and new minions
  • New armor, new weapons, new modifications and new cosmetics
  • New game mechanics, new tasks, new rules
  • DLC only supports Far Harbor

compatibility::

GRIM can be used with almost any mod, however:

  • Any weather mods or night mods are 100% incompatible.
  • Whispering Hill is incompatible with GRIM content and is redundant.
  • Zombie Walkers compatible but redundant.

GRIM has been balanced so that zombies and some GRIM mobs become slower while Feral Ghouls remain fast.

  • Pilgrim is not compatible and is also redundant for GRIM content as it is a very crude version of Grim.

-True Blood included in GRIM and modified for an enhanced horror overhaul.

  • You can use any ENB at your discretion, just make sure you enable the built-in patch for the enb from the GRIM menu.

If you want a true GRIM experience, I recommend using GRIM ENB.

-Flashlight included with GRIM Pipboy. ::suggestion::

  • If you want to play the game's storyline or build a settlement, don't use curses unless you're prepared for chaos.

Or, if you do, change some of the curse settings to get some peace.

  • Make sure subtitles are enabled from Fallout options, GRIM dialogue has no audio.
  • GRIM is a script intensive mod and from time to time I recommend turning off curses and playing the mod without it so that the cleanup scripts can do their job.
  • Some users are reporting a large number of vampires in the Concord area, which appears to be a lottery bug in the area.
  • Concord in Hell also has its problems.
  • When you enable a GRIM pipboy with a flashlight, the flashlight texture is only visible after saving and restarting the game.
  • GRIM's weapons are not modifiable, their variants are only lootable.
  • GRIM can be safely installed at any time during gameplay.
  • GRIM can be uninstalled at any time after you make sure to disable Grim pipboy (if you have it in your save) and disable Curse (if you have it in your save).

GRIM's quests and mechanics have been made the old-school way, don't expect to be held hostage and pay attention to what the NPCs are saying.

Like the Dark Souls games, GRIM's lore is all about storytelling.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
