Grenade Sound Options was born out of distaste for games using the same dang pin pull sound for all weapons using the grenade slot. When making my (original author DoubleYouC, the same below) icicle mod, it had a grenade style icicle weapon, and I was annoyed because all grenade weapons have the same pin pulling sound, which doesn't make sense for icicles... where are you going to pull the pin? I realize this is an issue with the original game, because whether they're actual grenades, mines, bear traps, caltrops, or Molotov cocktails, they all make a pin-pulling sound when you go to fire them. This mod recycles vanilla sounds and provides a way for grenade-style weapons to change their "pin pull" sound to a generic sound or a custom sound using keywords and sound descriptors.
5 additional sounds are now available:
Generic - A generic soft sound - GSOWeaponTypeThrowableGenericSound [KYWD:00A]
bird signal flare
HalluciGen gas grenade
artillery smoke grenade
Tribulus
Poisoned Tribulus Terrestris

Button Switch - Click sound from a button or switch - GSOWeaponTypeThrowableButtonSwitch [KYWD:00B]
fragmentation mine
bottle cap mine
nuclear mine
plasma mine
pulse mine

Button Beep - A brief beep emitted by an activated button or switch - GSOWeaponTypeThrowableButtonBeep [KYWD:00C]

Flare Fire - The whooshing sound the fire makes - GSOWeaponTypeThrowableFlareFire [KYWD:00E]
Molotov cocktail
Mod Author
To eliminate the pin noise from a grenade-style weapon, simply add the GSOWeaponTypeGrenadeNoPinPull [KYWD:100] keyword to it. To add any of the above sounds to it, add the above keywords as well. This can be easily done using RobCo Patcher.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
