Get dirty while exploring the wasteland. Take a shower and wash again.

There are four layers of dirt: clean, dirty, filthy and filthy.

Dirt effects are applied to the player character's skin over time.

Optionally, dirt effects are applied to armor and clothing.

Each dirt layer has its own unique 4k texture for dirt effects.

The duration of each dirt layer is configurable via the MCM.

Optional dirt radiation hazard function (switchable and configurable as well as via MCM).

Dirt Radiation Hazards (optional)

Levels of filth cause the player character to suffer filth radiation damage over time. The time it remains dirty without radiation damage is configurable from 1 to 48 hours. Depending on the set time, you will receive radiation hazard notifications when exposed (1 to 4 hours before damage begins) and contaminated. Your Pip-Boy will also display hazardous radiation hazard conditions.

If the radioactive dirt is not removed, the dirt radiation will have an ongoing radiation damage effect (maximum +10 rad) that will damage you over time. The intensity of dirt radiation damage depends on your endurance trait and level (Rad Resist and Ghoulish). Taking medicine can reduce the effect, and using the Rad Resist and Ghoulish traits can reduce the intensity of radiation damage to a minimum of +1 rads. The distance you fast travel depends on your health and perks, since damage doesn't stop while fast traveling(!).

To heal dirt radiation damage, take a bath or use a shower. Alternatively, you can use a decontamination bow or see your doctor. Decontamination Arch and Medic can only cure dirt's radiation damage, but not remove it (so you'll stay dirty and quickly become exposed to dirt's radiation damage again).

With the second level of Aquaboy or Aquagirl Special, you are completely protected from dirt radiation hazards.

bathing

Bathing will wash away all dirt effects (including blood spatter, poison and insect dirt, etc.) and prevent dirt radiation damage.

Cleaning needs: Swim in water, bathe or shower, use a bar of soap.

When swimming, any pool or open water source can be used (as soon as your character starts swimming). After swimming for 6 minutes, the swimming process begins. All durations are configurable via MCM.

For bathing or bathing, you can use any of CWSS Redux and B.Y.O.P.’s working showers or tubs. Build your own swimming pool.

To use a bar of soap just throw a bar of soap away. Upon activation, a menu will open and you can choose to wash or pick up the soap. You can also use soap as a marker for new cleaning stations, such as in a player's home.

compatibility

This module supports all bathroom and shower furniture from CWSS Redux and B.Y.O.P. Build your own pool and of course all buildable pools and water sources from any other mode such as: SOEP Settlement Object Expansion Pack and more

If CWSS is installed, the mod will suppress its own dirty notifications and apply a dirt layer corresponding to the CWSS clean status.

If you prefer to use the CWSS dirt effect, you can choose to apply the CWSS dirt texture via the MCM instead of the mods own dirt texture. The mod then lets you wash off the CWSS dirt effect (also works in any SOEP or BYOP pool or shower).
