About this mod Machine translation

You would think that in 200 years the light and air pollution would disappear and the Milky Way would be visible again. But the vanilla night sky still looked like this before the bombs dropped. This aims to solve this problem. Now with this mod you can see the beauty of Galaxy. The galaxy is a very sharp 4k texture and should have no impact on frame rate. The textures are direct ports of Apinanaivot's Skyrim, 4K Stars and Galaxies. I ported it to Fallout 4 with his permission. All I can say is that his mod is really beautiful. Since adding a galaxy texture is more complicated than just changing the texture, I made it possible to frame it.

Framework________________________________________________________

"How do I use a framework?" you may ask. Feel free to use it to reconstruct the galaxy. Just follow the rules below and do it like I'm giving you permission.

  • Textures must be your own, don't just edit the textures in this mod. Also, I in no way allow anyone to use the textures included in this mod, these are not mine. I only allow you to use .nif files.
  • Link your mod in a post I add to the forum tag. I want to be able to find it easily.
  • You must give appropriate credit in the mod's description. This includes me and anyone else you've used.
  • You can upload mods that use the framework to bethesda.net.

How to make it work properly.

  • Name the texture file 'Galaxy.dds'
  • Don't edit .nif unless you know what you are doing, if you have a bug and you edit nif, I can't help.

compatibility_______________________________________________________

This mod is very compatible and will work with any mod that doesn't change 'Stars.nif' or even other star mods! Just install the 'Stars Sold separate' version of the mod. The reason for this is that Galaxy doesn't work with actual vanilla skyboxes. So I edited a nighttime skybox based on Skyrim. Therefore, Stars and Galaxy are two separate textures.

Issues_____________________________________________________________

There is a known issue where the Milky Way flickers in settlements. Not everyone can solve this problem, but those who do can get it just by being in the same cell as the solution. Additionally, some people simply can't get Galaxy to work, but this problem is much less common. I'm currently trying to resolve both issues, although it seems to be caused by something on the user side as most people don't have this problem. Galaxies also sometimes appear slightly blurry, most noticeable when moving, and certain modes like Vivid Weather make them even more noticeable. However, this is an engine issue due to poor anti-aliasing integration and unfortunately I can't fix it.

There are also difficulties getting it to work on AMD graphics cards, I'm not sure if it's incompatible with every AMD card or just a few of them. It doesn't hurt to try, if you have an AMD card and it works let me know about the "Galaxy not appearance" error thread.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
