About this mod Machine translation

~Scrappable Outpost Zimonja~

A friend was frustrated while trying to work with Outpost Zimonja because quite a few of the "housing" pieces were not storable and could even be scrapped. I took a look at the ESM and saw that there were a lot of issues that were just non-buildable versions of the standard buildable parts, so I swapped the reference to the buildable version.

I had to make some scratchable ones (had a set of wooden poles and just didn't want to store them) instead of just buildable ones, but everything else turned out perfectly.

~Scrappable Commonwealth~

This is Scrappable Zimonja's 600lb Sumo Wrestler big brother... I've expanded the scope of Scrappable Zimonja (but not changed the concept) to include the entire Commonwealth - if it looks like it should be a scrappable house, then it's a scrappable house. This is not a "cleanup" module pack (although it will most likely clean up some stuff), it's just a conversion of all the Structure World items that you can expect to scrap nearby if there's a workshop... On the topic of the workshop, I've made it so that you can now pick it up and move it around in your newly cleared settlement.

As a bonus, this makes it really fun to place a workshop anywhere, as the area you drop a workshop on will be more "scratchable", and if you take over a Raider town, you can tear down all their walls and houses and rebuild it to your liking, or tear it down and leave it empty so they have nowhere to hide. Think of what you could do with a place like Easy City Downs, or one of those flyovers where shooters always have a spot on!

I had to make some new "recipes" for some wall/floor/roof components that don't work by default - I suspect this might conflict with the expanded settlement buildings, as we might all be using the same settlement objects. I'll look into making a compatibility patch once I get further into the mod. I also made a few recipes for things that needed to come down once the walls were cleared of all the stuff - those red oil lanterns were the main offenders - as well as some plywood markers for Diamond City, Jersey barriers for the airport, and some funky string light bulbs we found in Abernathy. I'm pretty sure there will be more to add to the list as I deal with more reconciliations and discover new weirdnesses.

Scrappable Commonwealth is about 75% complete - we've checked out Zimonja, Abernathy, Spectacle Island, Boston Airport, and The Castle, so the existing settlements may need more work, and when it comes to putting workshops where none already exist, there's no telling what might pop up. Still, I've made changes to over 7,200 records - that's 7,200 walls, floors, and roofs across the Commonwealth that haven't been made of anything scratchable yet.

In the institute realm, I don't even know what to think - maybe some enterprising person can merge my mod with Homemaker and you'll be able to take over the institute and rebuild it to your liking, with your own walls and floors.

compatibility

So far I haven't had any reports of incompatibilities with Homemaker, SSEx or ScrapScrap - just load my mod after Homemaker and SSEx and you should be good to go. If you use ScrapScrap you probably want to put it after my mod, if you use one of the "Trash Cleaner" mods you won't want to use the Relocated Settlement Trash minimod.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
