About this mod Machine translation

What exactly does this mod do?

  • It literally changes the branch texture of all the trees, giving them some dead, dark brown leaves,
  • Edited STAT records for plant meshes to give them more wind effects,
  • Significantly increased wind parameters in all vanilla weather (shows NAC if using compatibility patch),
  • Finally, it adds fallen leaf particles to most Commonwealth and Far Harbor/Nuka-World world spaces.
  • -compatibility - -

This mod will hardly be compatible with any mod that affects tree textures, or edits the default weather.

Some examples are: Commonwealth Conifer Redux, Fallout 4 Seasons, ReGrowth, etc.

A small note on precombined data. Since this mod adds objects to cell records, it contains a copy of the vanilla precomposed data record, so I highly recommend loading the mod into the load order if possible so that you maintain the mod for editing the precomposed data. As Zilav told me, DLC and unofficial patches are the way to go.

  • -Performance - -

Man, I don't know. Fallout 4 runs like garbage, it's just a bad engine anyway. One thing I can say is that unlike most plant editing mods, like mentioned above, my mod does not remove the precomposed meshes, so there shouldn't be any performance hit other than heavier particle usage. But to what extent the particles expel FPS, you'll just have to see for yourself. The mod is easy to uninstall, so if you're not happy with the performance, just delete the mod.

  • -Install - -

Just use your favorite mod manager, or manually unzip the 7zip file into the "Fallout4\Data" folder and enable esm\esp in the launcher.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
