About this mod Machine translation
Replace the original Mad Wight with the Flood from Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo Infinite
As shown in the picture, this mod adds nearly 40 Flood variants to replace the mad ghoul. There are 25 Marine Combat variants, 10 Elite Combat variants, and Spore variants.
The Infectious form (the original form that appears in swarms in Halo) also replaces the Radiated Cockroaches.
Actual performance:
The Flood will use the same attributes as the original Wight, and will become more difficult as you level up.
Spore- and Infected-types are scripted to explode and die when they reach a certain health point.
Spore forms explode upon death, releasing additional Infectious forms.
The post-burst Infectious form spawn rate is 20%.
Only wild ghouls will be replaced, ordinary ghouls will not be affected.
It only affects the crazy ghouls in the main federation map.
You need to start a new game or reset the save to use it normally.
compatibility:
- Should be compatible with anything that simply references the original Mad Ghoul. (like Resident Evil creatures)
- Any mod that directly modifies the original Mad Ghoul will have problems. (Such as Resident Evil zombie pack)
Known issues:
-Infectious types don't always explode on death
-Some weight setting issues
-Since the models of these Floods do not exactly match the wight models they are replacing, hit counting may differ from actual aimed shots. The spore type shoots mostly at the center of the body, while the infected type fires towards its base. There are fewer common combat-type issues, but it's best not to require headshots with guns. Otherwise you will see the bullet penetrate the mold without causing damage, and the author is unable to fix this at the moment
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
