Summary: DR: Do you wish there were more Valentine Detective Agency cases for you to play with? Have you ever thought you could start a business and run your own business? Have you ever wished there was something better in life than being a MM general because every settlement needs your help? Or do you want more of a role-playing experience that isn't tied to the main story or the various factions in the base game, allowing players to make a living as mercenaries? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you've definitely come to the right place, because this mod allows you to do exactly that; play as a gunslinging mercenary who wants to make some money, no matter what the method. You can run unlimited 34+ different jobs with 125+ random results in virtually unlimited locations. In addition, there are player-owned offices, vertical birds that can be used later, and a customized multi-follower system where you can choose to recruit up to 3 teammates to travel together.
This is the epitome of Hired Guns.

What is a hired gun? What does it do?
GFH was originally conceived as a plug-in for my crime and karma system mod Crime and Punishment, but due to scale and growth, it eventually became a standalone mod. The simplest gameplay of "GFH" allows you to run a business, conveniently located in the square opposite the main gate of Diamond City, where you can play a detective, a mercenary, or a hired gun to make a living. Once you secure a business location, you simply hire an assistant who will be your point of contact for getting work. The office location is a fairly spacious five room interior unit designed not only to serve as a business location but also as a home for a small player. World Soul has 27 career archetypes, each with its own random outcomes, branches, and iterations. That's cool enough in itself, 27 new quests for you to play, right? But here's the kicker. Your assistant is just the front end of a highly complex task management framework capable of running tasks in a never-ending
Provide work by adding and removing tasks from the task pool and then randomly selecting one from the remaining task pool. Completed tasks are temporarily removed from the task pool, paused for a period of time, and then returned to the available task pool. That way, these tasks are your never-ending source of work! Due to their random outcomes and possible branches based on your actions and choices, it's almost impossible for missions to be presented the same way twice in a row, despite having the same name!
And, if that’s not enticing enough, Gunslinger for Hire also features a powerful customizable multi-follower sy …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
