Marine Combat Armor 1st-Person Fix for No Pip-Boy Mods

Fixed how the Naval Combat Armor from Far Harbor didn't have first-person forearm armor if you were using a model with the Pip-Boy removed.

In short, I don't like that the Pip-Boy's forearm armor is skinnier than the Marine Combat Armor. While removing it in Man 3 looks fine, Man 1 tells a different story: the mesh doesn't cover the forearm armor at all. This is because only players can see this model in first person, and because in vanilla you were never intended to be able to remove your Pip-Boy, they simply didn't include the forearm pieces like other armor.

If you don't use a mod like PIP-Pad (or another mod that removes Pip-Boy) you install this mod, there will be no difference. It will still function as normal, the forearm armor will not appear if you have your Pip-Boy equipped, but this mod can be used to remove other mods for Pip-Boy.

Highly recommended to use this mod:

PIP-pad

Far Harbor Marine Armored Boots Repair

(Updated November 2018) Navy Armor Helmet Neck Cover (Armorsmith version available)

This mod is compatible with:

Reskins

Mesh changed to naval combat armor, no first person weapons involved (ideally third person weapons as they should match)

Modifications to modify armor form (IE Armor Rebalance Mode)

This mod is just a mesh replacement, so as long as there aren't any meshes affecting first person weapons it should be fine (third person weapons unchanged).

Fixes how the Marine Combat Armor from Far Harbor does not have a forearm armor piece in 1st-person if you're using a mod that removes the Pip-Boy.

In short, I don't like how much skinnier the Pip-Boy is than the forearm armor piece of the Marine Combat Armor. While removing it looks fine in 3rd-person, 1st-person tells a different story: the mesh simply does not include the forearm armor at all. This is because only the player will ever see this model in 1st-person, and because in vanilla you're never meant to be able to remove your Pip-Boy, they just didn't include the forearm piece at all like some other armors.

If you don't use a mod like the PIP-Pad (or another mod that removes the Pip-Boy) and you install this mod, there will be no difference. It will still function like normal, the forearm armor will not appear if you have your Pip-Boy equipped, however this mod is meant to be used with other mods that remove the Pip-Boy.

Highly recommended mods to use with this one:

PIP-Pad

Far Harbor Marine Armor Boots Fix

(Nov. 2018 Update) Marine Armor Helmet Neck Cover (Armorsmith Version Available)

This mod is compatible with:

Reskins

Mesh changes to the Marine Combat Armor that don't involve the 1st-person arms (and ideally the 3rd-person arms because they're supposed to match)

Mods that change the armor's Form (I.E. armor rebalance mods)

This mod is just a mesh replacement, as long as nothing affects the mesh of the 1st-person arms it should be fine (3rd-person arms are unchanged).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
