When you get a message in the upper left corner of the screen and it's third person, does it take you out of the game?
"You carry too much.", "You're not strong enough.", "Your family hates you.", "You're fat."
Well, have no fear! This little mod changes the information you get for the first person. You'll never let a game tell you what you are and what you do anymore. Now you will think of these messages to yourself.
"The brothers will hate me.", "I'm hungry.", "<sigh> I'm also fat."
With this update I was able to find many of the missing messages I had been looking for. No STRING files have been abused or otherwise penetrated this feature. I'll be doing a full update when GECK drops in April to clean up any issues I may have with this mod.
Install
Just download and install NMM. Place at the bottom of the loading order.
To update from 0.9 to 1.0
Just uninstall version 0.9 and install version 1.0. Very simple.
To update from 1.0 to 1.1
Just uninstall version 1.0 and install version 1.1. Fallout fans can do this with such ease.
To update from 1.1 to 1.2
Same as above.
To update from 1.2 to 2.0
Uninstall all previous versions of First Person Mail. Install version 2.0. All DLC must be installed. Gage liked that.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
