About this mod Machine translation

Make all sights have variable zoom levels! Even controlled with mouse wheel! Or a controller! Should work on any weapon, even Mod weapons.

It’s strange that such a great mod has never been forwarded? Although it was released in 2020.

Before FTS came out, this MOD was a better MOD that could provide sight zoom function. The compatibility is also very strong.

Only version 1.10.163 is supported.

Author's words:

Fine Zoom adds the ability to dynamically zoom in and out using an oscilloscope.

When aiming your gun in first-person view, you can change the zoom level using the scroll wheel, keyboard/mouse buttons, or the DPad on your controller.

Details:

Requires F4SE

It may be broken after updating, I will try to create a fix as soon as possible

Currently available for every gun, with scope selection options

If set, the minimum and maximum zoom levels are relative to the equipped scope

Should work with almost any mod's gun or scope, even See Through Scopes

MCM integration to allow changing in-game settings, see special instructions if not using MCM

Change FOV

If you want to change the FOV using commands as usual, you need to make sure you switch to a different weapon first and don't aim, otherwise it may not work properly.

Use Mod Manager

Installation should be as easy as usual using your favorite mod manager. Download the mod file without a Mod Manager and paste the folder into the Data folder inside the Fallout4 folder. Add FineZoom.esp to your load order, it won't change any existing content so the order shouldn't matter.

Changing settings without MCM If you want to change settings without using MCM, then you need to copy the files from within the Fallout4 folder to TODO and rename them.

TODOData\MCM\Config\FineZoom\settings.iniData\MCM\SettingsFineZoom.ini

Bringing some balance to this by adding custom scopes so that the scaling functionality is only available on them, and of course the "cheat" version will still be available.

The author spoke after the next-generation update of the game:

Hey.

So, about a month before the next gen update was released, I decided I was going to rewrite this mod to try to fix lag and add new features that weren't possible before, and for the most part, I did.

However, while I more or less finished it, that was on a pre-next-gen version, and between the disappointment of the next-gen update, my disappointment with the show, and some real-life issues I couldn't bring myself to fix for the new version.

However, if anyone else wishes to do this, the repository is here:

The current state is running on pre next gen version.

If someone has the ability to make it work on a next gen version then I give them my blessing to release it as a new mod,

I'll link to their working version here. Also, if you decide to do this, feel free to contact me with any questions, I don't think it's going to be a lot of work, just switch to the new F4SE plugin api, fix the addresses, and maybe change some struct formatting, but since I chose the hard path of writing it in Rust, you have to manually convert the structs and stuff, maybe things are more structurally changed than I expected, I just don't know. I started with the next_gen_wip branch to understand the basics of this.

Thanks for your support, I'm sorry I can't provide you with a fixed version.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
