About this mod Machine translation
Please do not install this mod until you enter Diamond City for the first time and pass PIPER/Mayor MCDONOUGH CUTSCENE. The problem some people reported was not being able to talk to PIPER and I don't know how to fix it I didn't edit her or whatever.
Anyway...are you as disappointed as I was when I went to Green Gem, only to see it filled with as much crap as Goodneighbor? Well, this mod is for you!
The city has been cleared but still retains its post-war elements. The store is actually in stock and has lots of greenery added making it a literal green gem.
The square outside the city has also been cleaned up and brightened - it now includes a small shelter for the caravan, as well as an interior space opposite the Diamond City gates, which eventually leads to an interesting rooftop, perfect for any screen-seekers.
There are two ESPs (make sure to check them in the Mod Manager to enable them!) - one for the Diamond City Edit and one for the Mega Surgery Center Edit. I tried merging the two together but it didn't quite work out at all. Please make sure to check both in the Mod Manager of your choice, otherwise the mod will not work properly. If you just want a surgical makeover, I will be adding an updated version of Mega Surgery Center to my Mega Surgery Center mod soon.
I played through the main mission involving a lot of Diamond City with my tester, and the main mission worked flawlessly.
As for the interior design, I'll either do a complete overhaul or edit it very slightly:
- Kellogg House
- Mega Surgery Center (if you are using MSC ESP)
- School building
- Science Center
- Fallon's
- Lover Detective Agency
- Dugout Inn
- Security Office
- Publick Occurences
- church
- Colonial Taphouse
The trash has been cleared from most of the interior and I've also removed the fog from the interior cells.
However, I didn't edit any of the residents' homes heavily since you don't actually enter them.
I've also given the Home Plate a brand new balcony (but I haven't touched the interior cells other than demisting as it's a mess and I know I'm just going to have to fill it with stuff) - so please remove any valuables you have stored on the balcony roof before installing the mod!
Requirements for this MOD
This mod requires some DLC. The reason is that I used assets from said DLC. Please don't ask about the non-DLC version - sorry, but that won't happen.
you need to:
Wasteland Workshop 1
Far Harbor
Nuka World
question
The issues my testers and I found were minor and didn't break the game in any way.
- Chemistry bench outside Mega Surgery Center
- Your character will be "stuck" when exiting the workbench. Just jump up and move to the right to return to normal.
A guard sometimes gets stuck in the corner outside the Mega Surgery Center. Let him do it - he figured it out eventually, haha. NPCs don't move in a straight line - even in vanilla they get stuck. Someone reported that Dogmeat was stuck on a car outside of Diamond City and I didn't even touch it, so there you go. Just give them a little and they'll figure it out.
- Followers will not always enter the RV player's house in the Diamond City outfield.
In some random cases, there will be a chair or shelf where there shouldn't be a chair or shelf. If it bothers you a lot, then switch the load order and you should be good to go. My tester experienced a shelf that wasn't supposed to be in the Mega Surgery Center, and I experienced a garbage dump that was there that wasn't supposed to be one in the actual city, but it didn't appear every time I loaded the game so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. You can always open the console, click on the item, and type "disable" to remove the inappropriate item if it still exists.
If there are garbage piles or missing buildings, please restart the game. This is an issue I experienced with the full vanilla game (portions of unedited settlements would be lost, etc.), but reloading always fixed it.
As for frame rate drops, I didn't experience any, but if you don't have …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
