Faster Workshop is an F4SE plugin that optimizes workshop loading times by replacing some of the most expensive and inefficient areas of workshop loading code with more efficient versions.
Among other things, it does two things:
Provide hotkeys to instantly enter Workshop mode.
Fixed an issue where workshop icons were not loading when quickly viewing workshop icons.
Testers who currently have a workshop load time of about 15 seconds (from activating the workshop to the build menu appearing) reported that the load time dropped to less than half a second. Those with lower startup load times reported near-instantaneous Workshop loads with the plugin installed.
Install
Install using your preferred mod manager, or copy the files from the download to the Fallout 4 Data folder.
Make sure to launch the game using the F4SE loader, otherwise F4SE will not be active.
This is an in-memory code patch. It does not attach any scripts to objects or your saves, and can be installed or removed at any time.
Require
Fallout 4 game version 1.10.50 or higher.
Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE), version 0.6.4 or higher.
Mod configuration menu, if you want to assign a hotkey for launching Workshop mode. Otherwise there is no need.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
