Frequently Asked Questions:
Will this apply to the Fallout 4 beta patch?
No, I do not currently provide beta updates. Please wait for the official Fallout 4 patch.
what do I do?
This is a standalone executable, installing via NMM will help you update notifications, but you will need to start this program manually. You can do this by manually downloading this file and placing it on your computer (Desktop/Documents/etc.) or using the Mod Manager to download and run it from the Fallout4\Data folder.
Where is your change log?
The changelog is always updated and is located on the "Changes" tab of this mod page.
This won't start? ! Why?
Try running it as administrator. If this doesn't work, please send me a screenshot of the error message. If you don't receive an error message, check Windows Event Viewer for more information.
I can't start this tool! Windows Event Viewer blames d3d9.dll. Why?
It sounds like you are running RIVA Statistics Tuner/MSI Afterburner. This software may cause incompatibility with some .net applications. Please close this software or add this application as an exception to fix this error.
I can't edit settings in game after using this tool? ! WTF?
This tool sets your configuration as read-only to prevent the game from overwriting adjustments. If you want to edit settings you can press "Edit Launcher Settings" or if you want to edit in game go to settings and turn off read-only mode and press save.
Where is mouse acceleration?
Mouse acceleration was removed a long time ago because the setting that was supposed to turn it off (bForceIgnoreSmoothness) was actually a texture setting in Fallout 4. There is no acceleration setting for this game.
Does this apply to F4SE?
This works with any executable you want. Just go into Settings and change the executable to the program you want to use.
How do I uninstall?
First, to restore the INI to default, go to Settings > Restore Backup INI. If you are using this app as your default launcher, be sure to press "Click to Restore Original Launcher". Then just delete this program.
My terminal is broken! The mini-games are so fast! Strange things happen in the game that shouldn't happen. Help!
By turning off framerate lock (vsync), game physics will become completely unreliable. Make sure to lock the framerate yourself by setting a cap (Nvidia Inspector) or turning on vsync in the AMD/NVidia control panel.
This is a virus!!! 111oneone
This is not a virus. I perform many tasks including editng file properties (read-only mode), modifying the registry (CPU priority adjustment) and accessing files in the program directory (default game installation directory). These actions + are not AAA software developers, some AV products will mark my tools as CYA which may be malicious.
I save!
You created a new save profile in the launcher without "Import existing saves" checked, so you have to manually move the saves from the Backup_Saves folder in Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\ to Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\Profiles\ProfileName\

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
