Preface: Far Harbor Nuclear World DLC

Personal update on July 9: Added the LOD file of the federal map that I was unable to upload yesterday due to time constraints, and has now been repackaged and uploaded.

The large map, Far Harbor and Nuclear World body beautification and LOD generation package have been packaged. A total of 7 files have been uploaded together. You can choose to install them according to your needs.

Autumn Forest Overgrow is a mod that focuses solely on pre-war foliage and trees, giving the world a lush environment. The wasteland is lifeless and will have no meaning in 200 years. The goal of this mod is to allow the world to fully recover from the ruins and ultimately rebuild the life that was once destroyed by humans.

Like many environment mods, it's inspired by a combination of Boston's natural environment, Fall Overhaul, and Nuclear Reload. With the increasing density of trees around the environment, it's easy to get lost while going from one location to another exploring other places, so it's possible to get scattered in most situations. Both Autumn environment mods have long been abandoned, have buggy, outdated LODs, and have broken pre-composition/visual effects previews despite having huge potential within the tree placement framework provided by the modders. Far Harbor and Nuka World needed more attention and it was decided to use the existing tree land framework as there were only 2 environment mods with Nuka World tree placement functionality and 1 for Far Harbor.

The Federation covers all world space, including the Swamp and Glowing Sea regions as well as some isolated areas. Far Harbor will add prewar maples to balance the pine flora. NukaWorld is filled with lush pre-war elm trees, giving the desert a forest theme.

It is fully compatible with any landscape and terrain LOD; this mod only edits world space. Since this mod only uses in-game assets (i.e. pre-war trees), this means that any mod that uses performance textures like Performout, PhyOp textures, etc. will also increase FPS while maintaining the look of an autumn forest.

Additionally, this mod is compatible with any sandblasted elm and maple trees that have leaves attached. Therefore, DoubleYouC's Seasons Change is fully supported. If spawned, just expect some long-range LOD z-fighting.

The frames used are: Fallout Needle Revival, Dead Forest Overhaul, Forest Far Harbor, and Another Pine Forest (Nuka World).

This mod does not break PreVis and precomposed meshes. Boston FPS Fix/PRP will work with this mod as I only changed the trees' objects to pre-war and that's it. In addition, the Dead Forest Overhaul framework has been updated and some records that caused broken meshes and visual effects previews have been removed.

There will definitely be a drop in FPS, although even with the help of PRP, the mod won't break the pre-combination. Optimize loading order and .ini files.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
