About this mod Machine translation
Ever wished your Fallout 4 looked like one of those Hollywood 80s/90s movies? Have you ever looked at Fallout 4 particles and thought "That's cool, but a little... boring?". Have you always thought that having just one bullet producing lots of particles would make players feel more capable and guns more satisfying? Do you like F.E.A.R Fire? Of course you did! That's why you opened this mod, so don't hesitate and jump to the download section!
I guess I could also list what this mod actually does, huh? Well, let's see...
- Almost all vanilla particles have been modified to produce more small particles such as sparkles, rocks, etc.
- The number of particles for most is just multiplied by 10x the spawn rate, but for some it makes sense to have a larger/smaller multiplier and some other adjustments like lifetime, scale or color.
- Redone a lot of particle HDR values so now they glow properly (I highly recommend using ENB bloom with this mod, otherwise the vanilla single pass bloom will make most glowing things look weird). If you don't like it, or your ENB preset doesn't look right, you can use low HDR esp.
3.0:
- Explosive particles redesigned inspired by the new Wolfenstein. Exploding sparks now have emitter collision,
- Laser\Gamma\Plasma particles have been reworked and improved, gravity has been changed to make up for the lack of real particle collisions,
- Lasers now produce more noticeable smoke on impact. Alien blast effects now also reuse smoke,
- Changed the color of ballistic sparks to make them more cartoony and realistic,
- Restored the Molotov explosion effect scale, however, for the sake of realism, it is still halved compared to the ridiculous vanilla scale.
- The muzzle flash has been completely redone and is much more realistic, with very subtle fire effects, realistic, subtle smoke, and very fast and fast fading sparks,
- Smoke effects are now more dramatic and have a more realistic gray color instead of vanilla yellow,
- Added explosion effect to Gauss rifle impact,
- Fixed sparks breaking alpha blending when mixed with smoke.
Future plans:
-Reworked water and blood blasts to look more like FC2 equivalents,
- Reworked cannon explosion effects (reusing water explosion particles?),
- Refixed loose cable sparks, improved their coloring and possibly added collision, similar to new explosion effects,
- Redesigned TP muzzle flash shape to be more realistic,
- Improved explosion files in "SetDressing\Vault", "SetDressing\BarrelTank" and "Interiors\Prydwen".
- Particles sometimes disappear, mostly fire particles.
- New smoke effect that reduces the performance of its knees. Avoid approaching.
- Explosive spark launcher collisions often get stuck in place.
- Anything that edits particle nifs is incompatible.
Can be installed using any mod manager or manually unzipped into the Fallout 4 data folder and enabled one of the esps in the launcher or mod manager. The low HDR version is for those running vanilla games, or the heavily tuned ENB preset, and the regular version is for those who have ENB Bloom/Tonemapping properly calibrated.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
