★About★
In the original game, player dialogue required exactly four response options—the game no longer accepts that, nor does it. The system also shoehorns most conversations into one of four types: yes, no, neutral and question. As you might imagine, conversations don’t always fall neatly into these categories! Extended Dialog Interface (XDI).
Hardcoded 4-option limit for dialogue, and added engine support for any number of player dialogue options. Mods can now create new dialogue experiences that emphasize player choice and have dialogue options that truly reflect their intentions. XDI will not modify the original dialogue itself, but will display the full text of the original dialogue selections.
When installing XDI
Make sure there is no DialogueMenu.swf file in the Data\Interface folder. This file is available in XDI's BA2 archive. Any loose interface files in this folder will take precedence and overwrite XDI's files.
Very important:
When XDI is just installed, DialogueMenu.swf will be generated under the Interface file. Delete it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
