v5.0 Installation Guide
**If you have questions about this mod, please read the help section**
For new users:
- Place all files and folders in the Enhanced Wasteland folder into the root Fallout 4 game directory.
It should be located at: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4"
- Download the ENB.dll file from here: http://goo.gl/Yp1QuQ
Mirror (if the link above is broken):
Place the two .dll files into the root Fallout 4 game directory.
You can also download the .dll file from the ENB official website: http://enbdev.com/mod_fallout4_v0307.htm
Here's how everything will look when finished:
- Run the game normally through the launcher and it should load the new ReShade/ENB graphics module.
•By default, this preset is turned on with the ENB Depth of Field effect.
If you want to use ReShade Depth of Field, go to the Default folder located in "ReShade\Presets\Default" and open the "Shaders_by_MartyMcFly.cfg" file. Next, scroll down to line 67.
Where it says "#define USE_DEPTHOFFIELD 0 // [DOF] // - " change the 0 to 1 and save the file.
This will open up depth of field.
*ReShade Depth of Field will not work if you are wearing Power Armor. In order to experience depth of field while wearing Power Armor, you need to disable the HUD via the Fallout 4 console. The console command to remove the HUD is 'tm' aka Toggle Menus.
You can turn ReShade DoF on and off by pressing the F3 key.
•Want to increase your FPS by 10 with this preset? Disable ambient lighting. Go to the Default folder located in "ReShade\Presets\Default", open Shaders_by_Ganossa.cfg and scroll down to line 48. It says "#define USE_AMBIENT_LIGHT 1 // [AmbientLight] // - " Change the 1 to 0 and save the file.
This will disable ambient lighting effects but increase frame rate.
•You can also disable SSAO which may be heavy on your framerate. To do this, open "enbseries.ini" and look at the [EFFECT] section. Next, change the "EnableSSAO = true" variable to "EnableSSAO = false" and save the file.
This will disable screen space ambient occlusion effects but increase frame rate.
w Provides the same instructions for new users, but uninstalls the old preset first.
•Go to the Fallout 4 game directory

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
