About this mod Machine translation
The goal of Enhanced Lights and FX is to create more atmospheric, realistic lighting. It revolutionizes lighting, effects, ambient light and creates a new atmosphere for interiors.
Prerequisite: Automatic Workshop Far Harbor DLC
As the title says, the famous lighting effect overhaul, abbreviated as ELFX, is a very classic lighting module. It happened to be mentioned in the retro aesthetics academy overhaul that I posted before, so I posted it here.
The main file has been packaged and uploaded together with the Chinese patch.

introduce
The goal of Enhanced Lights and FX is to create more atmospheric, realistic lighting. It revolutionizes interior lighting, effects, ambient light and creates a new atmosphere. The lighting is based not only on the post-war world but also on the pre-war world, with light sources placed in places that make sense in pre-war Boston, whether the lights are on or off. Also...carry a flashlight with you.
Specific content
- All internal light sources will emit light.
- More godray casting lights.
- More shadow casting lights.
- Enhanced interior day/night circle visuals, some interiors will be darker at night.
- Darker interior ambient light and fog (in some cases, really dark).
- Slight or zero framerate loss.
Install
Add the following lines to Fallout4Custom.ini in Documents\My Games\Fallout4:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
Optional for subtle rim light:
[General]
sStartingConsoleCommand=cl rim 0.0005
The "cl rim" command controls the rim brightness of the game character, this value should lower it.
Install using your favorite mod manager. I (the original author anamorfus) recommend Mod Manager 2 or Vortex.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
