Added details to Nuka-World to clarify its exact location and give it a real place in the wasteland!

Original address:

Did you know that a little bit of Nuka-World is actually in Connecticut? Well, I had no idea until I started studying the geography of Fallout!

What's this?

This mod adds various details to the area around Nuka-World, mostly in the form of signposts, designed to give it a place within the wider wasteland. You will now find signs indicating that you are crossing a state border. Along the southern portion of the map you'll find friendly signs welcoming you to Connecticut, and signs welcoming you back to Massachusetts on your return. In addition to this, you can also see signs on overpass highways showing which highway it is and where the various exits lead.

Why are you doing this?

Through playing the Nuka-World DLC, I realized that there was nothing in the game world to indicate the location of the park. Some time ago I made a Google Map listing (almost) every known canon in Fallout, and I was having a hard time deducing where Nuka-World was supposed to be. After some research, I finally decided it was located along the Connecticut River south of Springfield. The reason I did this is that the area has a real-world theme park (Six Flags New England), a north-south river and an island (Connecticut River), and a north-south highway (Interstate 91). All of this exists in the Nuka-World map. This also means that some of the area south of Nuka-World Park is actually in Connecticut. To reduce confusion and increase immersion, I decided to make this mod.

NukaWorld's approximate location relative to the Commonwealth and the Luminous Sea.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
