About this mod Machine translation

200 years. It's been 200 years since bombs fell and destroyed human civilization. The world has plenty of time to change again, hopefully for the better. Many things have indeed changed around the world, not just in the Commonwealth. When you stumble upon this quest, you'll learn about the fate of others. You don't know who he is, you don't know where he lived or when, but clearly he has a story to tell - and encourages you to step in his footsteps and follow his path - a path you don't know it will lead you to, and hopefully it will get better. Honestly, it couldn't be any worse than it is now, could it?

About this mod

This is a master file. You will need it to run other mods I have created, or to upload to this site in the future. If this is the case I will explicitly announce it in these mods and in the mod list below. This mod also contains the lore behind the entire mod collection, which includes a very short introductory mission that gives you immersive access to the mod collection's content.

Before installing any mod that requires Eisenwolf's Legacy, make sure you complete the entire quest and get the perk notification at the end. Once the mission is completed, you can also create a new workbench in your settlement, the "Isenwolf's Workbench". You will need this workbench to craft some components used in mods that depend on this mod.

Every time a new mod is added that requires this master file, the new holotape will be added to your inventory the first time you log into the game. It will add another part of the lore of the mod collection and give you an idea of what the new mod does and how it was created by Eisenwolf.

The mods I created require this mod to run:

  • 6-Gun Revolver Rifle
  • NXT Syringer Ammo

-Small lunch set

  • Completely safe MediPack
  • Symbiotic settlement
  • Fafnir
  • Eisenwolf's energy weapon

Install

  • Install Eisenwolf's Legacy and start the small introductory mission as soon as you load it from a fresh game (if something goes wrong and you need to reload the save game again, you won't lose as much progress). Once done, just create a new save game and log out.
  • Use NMM to install any mods that require Eisenwolf's Legacy and continue using it

The savegame just created. This way you can ensure that all variables are updated correctly, as Fallout 4 glitches when it has to update certain types of variables on the fly.

Preface

As a quest mod, this mod suffers from the same issues that every other quest mod suffers from: Bethesda's quest system is a bit on its own, and can suffer from bloated or corrupted save files during normal gameplay! It's possible (but unlikely) that this mission doesn't launch properly (based on feedback I've gotten from around 20,000 unique downloads of version 1.2.0 on PC and Xbox, the chance of the mission not launching is 0.04%), which will inevitably cause the entire mission to fail. The best way to fix this (so far) is to reload the last save game (or an earlier save game) and try again, as I already mentioned in the installation section. Another very common problem is load order. Make sure this mod is loaded early, like any other main file mod, but it cannot be loaded before fallout4.esm, DLC esm files, and the unofficial community patch (if installed).

I can't find this note!

->The note is located in a cave southwest of Lonely Chapel. It is located next to the torso of the Brahmin and the bloody skeleton. If you're in a cave but can't find your notes, it's probably a glitch that can usually be fixed by reloading the save and trying again. If this doesn't help, the most likely cause is a corrupted save game or a wrong load order. Make sure the esm file is loaded early (just like other esm files) and if it's already try moving it up or down a bit. For the more tech-savvy users: Eisenwolf's Legacy places items into the normal open game world, so the mod should be loaded before any other main files that provide texture or mesh overhauls.

I don't get the popup telling …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
