Dynamic properties of radiation 4
Originally based on the xwise dynamic performance tuner. Most of it was rewritten and upgraded to Fallout 4 version 1.10.40.
feature
*Frame rate cap - Will limit the frame rate.
*Loading Speedup - Removes frame rate capping on loading screens to reduce loading times.
*Adjust shadow distance as needed.
*Adjust godray/volumnetric quality.
set up
Here is an example of an ini file. The performance tuner will look for "dynaperf.ini" in the same directory as Fallout4.exe
[Simple]; Target FPS is the highest FPS the game is allowed to run at, and is also the baseline for 100% load. ;The value is converted to particles. I call it targetFrameTime. ;For example, if FPS is 60, there are 16666us per frame.
fTargetFPS = 60; Cap Framerate will control whether we sleep to limit the frame rate.
bCapFramerate = 1; Target load is the percentage of "work" time required for target FPS. This can be >100 if you wish. ;Adjust the shadow distance (in the range below) so that; "targetFrameTime * fTargetLoad / 100 = game engine working time"
fTargetLoad = 98.0; Momentum is how fast the shadow distance changes, whether up or down. If the current frame time is higher than the target frame time (for example, the load is too high), momentum starts in the negative direction, accelerating until the minimum momentum value is reached. ;Conversely, if the current frame time is low (the load may be increasing), we start the momentum in the positive direction until; it reaches the maximum. ;Either way, if the current frame time crosses the target frame time, the momentum is reset in the correct direction. ; Speed up by 10% each time we continue down.
fMomentumDownAcceleration = 1.1; Never exceed 1000/frame down.
fMinMomentum = -1000; Accelerate to 2.5% as we continue upwards.
fMomentumUpAcceleration = 1.025; Never exceed 500/frame upward.
fMaxMomentum = 500; fShadowDirDistance Min/Max sets the limit to which the Performance Tuner will set the shadow distance.
fShadowDirDistanceMin = 2500
fShadowDirDistanceMax = 12000; bAdjustGRQuality will enable/disable updates of GR quality.
bAdjustGRQuality = 1; The GR quality shadow distance tells the performance tuner what to set the quality to, given the current shadow; distance. It will select the highest quality for the current shadow distance.
fGRQualityShadowDist1 = 3000
fGRQualityShadowDist2 = 6000
fGRQualityShadowDist3 = 10000
[Advanced]; LoadCapping enables FPS capping in loading screens. ;Disabling FPS capping during loading can speed up loading times. ; Works best if you don't use vsync, or set it to "fast" in the Nvidia control panel.
bLoadCapping = 0; UsePreciseCapping to determine if there is a busy wait sleep to microseconds, or just use; the built-in millisecond sleep. ; I recommend not doing this, but you can use it if you want.
bUsePreciseCapping = 0; Enables the console and displays some internal status information. ; If F4SE and some of its plugins are enabled, they will also output to the console; If you use this feature, I recommend using a second monitor, or using borderless mode so you can view it.
bShowDiagnostics = 0
Memory addresses and Fallout 4 versions.
The reason mods like this break when Bethesda updates Fallout4.exe are the memory locations of variables used by this mod
can be different.
To help mitigate this issue and allow users to fix this themselves without recompiling the DLL, I have moved the addresses into the ini file.
This mod will view Fallout4.exe version information
rmation, and then look for the corresponding ini file. ini file must be named "fallout4-addresses-w.x.y.z.ini".
where w.x.y.z is replaced by the version number. For example, for Fallout 4 version 1.10.40, the file should be called "fallout4-addresses-1.10.40.0.ini".
If the file cannot be found, it will open a console and tell you what file it is actually …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
