To hunt Deathclaws? Are there any fog crawlers that are too difficult to take down? Are behemoths and super mutants terrorizing the settlement? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I have a solution for you. Look at the double barrel elephant hunting rifle!
When Europeans began exploring the African interior in the early 19th century, they quickly encountered a problem: the wildlife themselves. Africa is home to some of the most dangerous land animals on Earth, and their weapons are ineffective against the continent's wildlife. To protect themselves from falling prey to the continent's animals, they invented bore rifles. Chambered rifles were effective in dealing with the new threats they faced, but the problem with chambered rifles was that they were very heavy and cumbersome to carry for long periods of time, so in response to this, rapid rifles were developed. With half the weight of a bore rifle and requiring as much or more muzzle energy to take down Africa's dangerous wildlife, explorers finally have a proper solution for hunting and protecting themselves in Africa.
The double-barreled elephant rifle, or "elephant gun" as it is sometimes called, is powerful enough to knock down an elephant, hence its name. The rifle has 2 barrels and requires a quick follow up shot if the first shot fails to knock down the animal the hunter is hunting or if multiple animals decide to attack.
So what caliber do you get with this mod? Too many but here are some calibers
500 Nitro Express:
Invented sometime in the 1890s, this caliber was based on and improved upon the 1860 Black Powder Express invented in the 500s. This caliber produces 5860 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and is used against elephants, buffalo horns and rhino, the largest of the Big Five. The penetration of this caliber is also acceptable for big cats, making the 500 Nitro Express the benchmark for acceptable calibers for hunting in Africa.
600 Nitro Express:
Invented in the early 1900s, this bullet finally gave hunters what they were missing from chambered rifles. Similar to the 4-hole, the 600 Nitro Express allows hunters to shoot through bushes and even stop charging elephants.
700 Nitro Express:
Sometime in 1985, a man named William Feldstein visited Holland & Holland and asked them to build him a double-barreled rifle in the 600 Nitro Express. They told him no because they stopped making the 600 Nitro Express in 1975, so Feldstein built his own 600 Nitro Express, but better. The end result is the 700 Nitro Express. The 500NE, 600NE and 700NE are still in production today.
Special trigger:
You can switch whether to fire one barrel at a time or both barrels simultaneously.
Sights:
iron sights, reflex sights, acog scope or 6x scope
Receiver:
Receiver module with original type. Additionally there is now a special receiver that increases sneak attack damage by 50% This weapon has a legendary effect as it will deal more damage to the target depending on the caliber you choose.
This effect is called Dangerou's Wild Life, and it works silently behind the scenes. The caliber you choose will deal critical (1.5x) damage to certain enemies. Why should I set it up like this? To make things more realistic, as some calibers are great at taking out big game, but do a poor job at other things. Why are there so many calibers? To reflect the current era and some of the older chamberings as you can buy this rifle today in a variety of calibers. Another thing is that many of these calibers will be used in other weapon mods in my Big Game Firearm series.
So what does this have to do with Fallout 4? Is this legend friendly? To answer the first question with Deathclaws, Behemoths and other large mutated creatures running around the wasteland, I'm sure there will be a huge resurgence of calibers like this to deal with such threats. Is it legend friendly? It can. You alre …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
