Added more variety to the militia face pool.
Most randomly generated militias are drawn from a pool of only 18 faces. In the original game, this wasn't as big an issue as you were unlikely to encounter more than a few at any given time. However, mods that increase militia group size and/or spawn frequency, or allow users to recruit militia for their settlements, can quickly burn out the vanilla face pool, resulting in multiple NPCs sharing the same appearance. Diverse Minutemen attempts to alleviate this situation by significantly increasing the number of faces available in the pool. With this mod, the original 18 faces have become 78, with more to come.
compatibility
Given the nature of this mod, it should be compatible with anything but mods that do the same thing. For example, We Are The Minutemen by TheFirstEnD added some new faces to the Minutemen pool, so I (the author) included a patch in the files section to allow all faces from both mods to appear.
The main body and patches have been packaged.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
