About this mod Machine translation

Added 258 new legend-friendly songs to Diamond City Radio the right way - by adding them to the Diamond City Radio quest. There are no messy hacks, no monologues that affect Travis.

As shown in the picture, the expansion of the famous Diamond City radio station has been disgusted by a series of cruel things done by Company B recently. I wanted to make some music to relieve my vomiting. A big boss happened to have Chinese version of it before, so I posted it on the weekend.

Have a problem with the module? question? FAQ here. If you ask a question or submit a bug report, and this is clearly explained in the article, I'm unlikely to respond (bug reports will be closed without a reply). Repeating yourself over and over again gets old quickly. That's why FAQs exist. Read it.

The same goes for the following information. If it's been solved on this page, please don't expect me to repeat it.

Welcome to version 5 - probably the last version aside from possible bug fixes or minor updates. If you are installing/updating on an existing save, please see the FAQ entries "Updating mods?" and/or "Is it safe to install/update in game?"

Main changes compared to previous versions:

  • Easier to update -

I added a version check to the script to automatically reset the radio task on load when a version change is detected (only for new games - see FAQ entry "Is it safe to install/update in game?"

  • Smart Shuffle -

I wasn't very happy with the randomizer in the previous version. What looks good on paper, not so much in practice. It's a little too casual for my taste. There are some songs you hear all the time and some you hear almost never. Version 5 uses more smart shuffle, so you'll hear each added track before re-shuffling and starting over.

One thing to note about the new shuffle algorithm is that Travis' old feature of introducing new songs is gone. It's a cool little feature but has very little impact on the added complexity.

Only the added tracks (plus The Wanderer without intro/outro) are included in the shuffle. Original tracks have been restored to their original behavior. This means that every and last song in the song cycle will be original. If the ratio of vanilla to added tracks isn't to your liking, check out options 2 or 3 below.

  • To the holotape -

1 New options added. Switch Travis's Personality - Use the Travis you like whether you complete the mission or not.

  • More Music, Less Talk - Increase the length of the music and only transition between the intro and outro songs.
  • Talk more, listen less - Reduce the length of your music and only transition between the intro and outro songs.

Notice:

  • Option 1 has not been thoroughly tested. It works, but don't be surprised if hiccups occur.
  • The maximum value for options 2 and 3 is 9. Minimum value is 1 (vanilla). The default value is 3.
  • The values shown for options 2 and 3 in Pip-Boy do not include intro and outro songs. A value of 3 means 5 songs will play between Travis' intro and outro dialogue.
  • The option to turn off/on Magnolia tracks actually works -

describe

Diamond City Radio adds 258 new legends-friendly songs - for a total of 300 songs - ~13.5 hours of tunes.

  • All songs are trimmed and normalized for perceived loudness (-18 LUFS), so there shouldn't be any overly long pauses (except vanilla pauses), surprising volume spikes, or quiet songs.
  • The current track listing can be found in this article.

All TRAVIS monologues are intact and working fine

  • This mod does not touch the original sound descriptors or modify any of Travis' sound files.

MAGNOLIA ADDED FROM THE BEGINNING

  • I know. I'm weird. But it bothered me that Magnolia was the Schrodinger's Cat of Diamond City Radio, so I made her music available from the beginning of the game. For the haters out there, there is an optional setting to remove her from Diamond City Radio entirely.
  • "Rocket 69" is another track that only plays when certain in-game c …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
